All real examples that I've seen just in the past few days.

The internet is becoming unusable. I happened to scroll across an Instagram post about 9/11 yesterday, and half of the comments were "the Jews did it". Posts about suffering dogs will get comments like "I have more sympathy for the dog than fake Holocaust victims". It's been entirely normalized.

Focus on actionable issues that will result in change on the ground. States can be forced to either change their actions or become isolated pariahs; applying pressure in real ways is better than calling for something impossible (and that conveniently is only ever relevant to one specific state).

The concept of whether or not a state that currently exists and operates as a state has the "right" to exist or not is entirely irrelevant. There is no method of forcing a state to no longer exist that does not involve rampant bloodshed and abuse of human rights - and that hasn't been tried already.

Stockpile your HRT. Have cash on you. If possible, keep a valid passport with you, even if it has the wrong details. You never know when things are going to suddenly get much worse without warning, and they're far past the stage of laying the foundation.

Basically - stop oversimplifying everything and recognize that everyone has agency and bears responsibility for their actions, and that in the end it's always the civilians who suffer most.

But it's also somewhat ridiculous to say that Israel is bombing unprovoked in Lebanon. Don't ignore Hezbollah's agency, or excuse their constant targeting of civilians. I've walked through the ruins of the towns that they target - towns that I used to constantly visit a couple years ago.

I also don't know what the proper way of dealing with Hezbollah is. Israel has tried a ground invasion multiple times; it's never worked. They've just been outlawed by the Lebanese government, but Hezbollah has far more firepower than the Lebanese armed forces. I'm not super optimistic.

I don't think Israel is handling the situation well in Lebanon, but neither do I think that Hezbollah's constant rocket attacks on civilians are justified or need to be endlessly endured. (Disclaimer: I am one of the citizens under bombardment from Hezbollah's drones and rockets.)

Either I have less patience today or more people are making excuses for / justifying Hezbollah's existence today than usual. In any case, Hezbollah is a terror organization that has caused many, many deaths in Israel, Lebanon, and Syria. It has no basis for existence or legitimacy as an armed group.
