All in all though, I’m trying to stay optimistic. It’s tough out there and I definitely have bad days; health-wise, finance-wise and mental health-wise, but I hold onto hope because without hope, we’ve already lost. So I greet every day with a smile, even when they’re hard to do. Hope y’all are well

Read novels, short stories, articles, non-fiction, anything. Just read.

it says a lot about the state of Twitter when perpetual anger, fear and distrust is so normalized that any place that feels remotely positive puts people on edge. I get the shared trauma/borderline Stockholm of it all, but it’s sad really.

Remember to take breaks. Social media isn’t real life.

Shoujo enlightenment is realizing that no matter how many times you explain demographics, their importance, or calling out systemic misogyny in the anime/manga industry, some people just refuse to listen.

You can educate, but you can’t force someone to learn. Arguing with brick walls is never fun

As a firm genre agnostic, I agree. As long as people are reading, I’m happy

It’s just depressing seeing the rise of functional and media illiteracy and an inability for some to think critically or consume long form media because its not an instant dopamine hit. Books are needed and deeply necessary

The little electronic boxes in our hands are neat and all, but people desperately need to go to a library and read something. I don’t care if it’s a novel, manga, comic, zine or whatever.

Trading books for social media has done irreparable damage and I don’t care if that’s a boomer take, I’m right

The relationship between Anne of Green Gables and anime is one of my all time favorites. I always go out of my way to watch both the original and the prequel every couple of years.
