Wild ducting over the Gulf right now. Atmospheric conditions are letting the radar beam scan the Gulf and track the evolution of these waves. In the AM frames, you can even see ground objects picked up by radar, then vanish once mixing occurs! Cool stuff #txwx #lawx
Major flood issues with this last flood event across S LA..
Keeping a close eye on this. Short term CAMs have had a good uptrend
Any SPC mets or anyone know whatβs going on with the SPC servers lately.. specifically the mesoanalysis page? Itβs been really slow the past few days. @wxliz.bsky.social
Hate it or not.. tis almost that time of the year. Back to back 80s to 90s likely after the May time-frame. #lawx
Hot & Muggy Is the Story...
Temps are sitting in the low to mid 80s across #southwestlouisiana and #acadiana this afternoonβand with those high dew points, itβs feeling every bit of it.
Cool weather is back on the way tho for the start of our work week!
Tis that time of year.. sea breeze boundaries! As we enter our climatological peak heating months, the contrast between the βcoolerβ Gulf and the warm land temps creates these little "cool fronts," if you will. They can also help spark some localized precipitation. #LAwx
While the entire state is NOT under any sort of drought, the lack of rain today and over the last 14 days across most of the state (along with 10-100cm soil moisture running quite low), sets the stage for prime fire weather conditions Thu into Fri. Avoid outdoor burning!! #lawx
Check out all this dust (yellow) mixed in with this large 992mb low and CF being dragged to the south. Some of this dust mixing in with a few clouds behind the front could lead to a nice sunset over some areas!
FOX35 just got hit by a tornado LIVE ON AIR! Tornado just passed Lake Mary and is heading toward Orlandoβs Sanford International Airport!
CIRA got a nice look at the fire in SWLA today with high level clouds streaming in ahead of our little severe weather risk tomorrow
If we donβt mix much during the day (and I think CAMs might be underdoing it a bit).. we could be looking at a pretty impactful hail event across Acadiana and SWLA with the potential for a brief tornado. #lawx
Love these little small risk days. Someone will get a beautiful tornado today
Go fuck yourself Mike. 0 people care
Wish we could just help every single person. All good people.
I'd like to see more sites do this. Props to the best site for viewing the full fluid motion of the atmosphere earth.nullschool.net for this message π
Wow! Check out all of this likely super-refraction over on KLCH tonight. It's quite stable and with all the low-level/boundary layer cooling, it's easy for these atmospheric conditions to bring the radar beam near the surface. Now let's see if anyone is speeding lol
Thank you, Mr. Dictator. Even though I sat on the couch looking like a scared dog with my tail tucked toward the end, I will always fight as the one and only Marco Rubio. God bless Donald John Trump (cue the Trump version of the national anthem).
The wall when I left today π₯Ή
Nice sunset out of Church Point to end the day. Lows in the 50s with some fog possible overnight. Mardi Gras brings widespread rain (some severe) & strong winds (40+ mph). Another quick system late next week, but the weekend looks rather nice for all of Acadiana.
Wow, take a look at that. It's very possible that we get a high wind warning for many areas on Tuesday due to the extreme gradient winds, in part from this system to the north. Some spots could see high-end tropical storm force winds. #lawx

A picture tells a 1000 words.. I want it to stop speaking
I will mourn the day that our knowledge, research, and passion in the Weather Service is ever disposed of in favor of that used for the gain of a business or individual. I kept my job today, but I will miss everyone else who was motivated by the greater good of all people.
Never seen them before + blue check = dumbass

New: Layoffs underway of probationary employees at @noaa.gov Unclear so far how many were exempted for public safety reasons at the Nat'l Weather Service, NOAA Satellites and other units. www.axios.com/2025/02/27/l...
I almost never read articles.. but Matt his the nail on the head with this one
Even if itβs what Dictator Trump βcampaigned onβ, this is very unethical andβ oh.. itβs the Trump administration.
