It is fascinating, the story around the Men of Stone, Men of Iron and Men of Gold.

They look like they're from the old Warhammer Monthly comic Black Library did.

As for the Votann, I'd say they were either originally part of the first Iron Men or more likely an evolved version of the highest form of STC database that were also AI.

No, they're not the men of Stone.

The Men of Stone are, according to L.J. Goulding, a form of Cyborg that had silicon-based circuitry as part of their brains, hence the 'Stone' reference and allusions to them having half-lives when viewed by Warp-entities.

I believe he got that from Alan Merrett.

But 40K Spaceships do it all the time! They even have a special name for it "Orbital Strike".

And then there's Exterminatus.

I don't care if its conscious, I care if it's a moral machine.
If it isn't then it is an Abominable Intelligence like out of Dune or 40K and will probably be psychopathic.

If I remember correctly Mike Brooks' novel Rites of Passage (2019) has a non-binary character that uses they/them pronouns.

40K is a satire of the types of guys who would use a phrase like "woke people" to label normal folks.

ALthough the humans in 40K are xenophobic, they are not amongst other things racist, anti-pronouns, misogynistic, transphobic, homophobic, or anti-LGBTQ+.

Emperor's Children Jetbike Chariot, a kitbashed vehicle for Horus Heresy.

Well if you ever do Horus Heresy you can always give the Ultramarines a Jetbike version of that chariot.

a close up of a man 's face with the words " my name is maximus decimus meridius " written below him Alt: a close up of Russel Crowe's face as he says "My name is maximus decimus meridius" written below him, from the Ridley Scott film Gladiator (2000).

Is it a certain Gladiator, known for being a husband to a murdered wife, father to a murdered son, and now your new miniature?

I wonder if you could get a copy of that Roman Miniature to try painting up Rogue Hobbies-style?

How about a story set around Anderson?

I've been enjoying her guest starring in Azimuth.

That's the point.

They're so alike in many ways that Death is a mirror darkly reflecting Dredd. Well except for Death being an undead psychopathic serial killer.

This Coteaz, as old as it is, not only looks like a normal human in power armour (snazzy power armour at that) they look like an actual Inquisitor to boot.

By comparison the plastic one looks like an overweight, 7ft tall space trucker wearing power armour that's chonkier than a Primaris Terminator!

I'd have thought that the Knights (and some what the Titans) were more Mechsploitation.
The "Thrones" they use to link with their Knights brainwash them and the pilots of Chaos versions merge with theirs.
And that's before you get to the "Machine Spirits" of these Mechs.

Ropecon 1996: Andy Chambers: Andy Chambers Q/A YouTube video by Ropecon

An interesting little time capsule of Andy Chambers doing a Q&A in 1996.

His discussion of constant errata is very interesting considering how things have changed since then.

With DW they were claiming it had all gone "Woke", unlike the original series.

Quite a few of them went into full denial when I pointed how "Woke" the original series had been, and that 1970's The Green Death is still considered the "Wokiest" DW story ever.

Do you know why?

It's because no one has ever seen a Purple Ork!

I used to see this kind of thing from "Whovians" during Jodie Whittaker's time as Doctor.

Every time I'd see one of them being nothing but negative about an episode I would ask them to tell me something they found good about it.
Cinematography, locations, etc.

They just wouldn't or couldn't.
