Yes. That’s because each state gets two Senators and it’s Reps that are based on pop — and got screwed up by the Permanent Apportionment Act way back when. So maybe complain about that…?

And I said, you may as well get used to those looking from the outside in lumping you in among those who allowed this to happen.
I’ll also note the original poster specifically said they couldn’t believe some voted for him — & you got your hackles up.
We must resist, yes, but also we must own it.
Also, Cricket was more mature & intelligent.
Opportunists abound of course.
I have no words.
I’m not prone to vulgarity or blasphemy, but: JFC!!!
Remember how accusatory the Rs were about how the US left AFG? About how we abandoned AFG allies?
That’s happening now to roughly half a million US citizens in the ME. The very resource to help them is leaving first & it’s 100% trump’s fault.
Also mobs. One tends to lead to the other at some point.
The disciplined non-violent protest is bound to crack at some point. :/

I like to offer people more choices than she ever did.
Hey, at least she didn’t use one of the made up 2A quotes variously & falsely attributed to Washington/Adams (pick one)/Jefferson/Franklin/etc.
I can’t see that word any more without thinking of Betty White’s description, which immediately makes me think it’s a disrespectful to the word to use it as a descriptor of anyone in the current administration.
Numb and number?
Not entirely sure where I’m going with that, but sorting how to pronounce “number” in this context should help relieve some stress. :)
Phrasing…
There are few in US Legislative office right now who have ever checked & balanced the Exec, let alone seen it done.
Most of them aren’t merely not doing their job, they literally don’t know what their job is.
Collectively, through ignorance & apathy, We the People let this happen. We chose this.
Accurate minus one piece: post 9/11 the Legislative Branch essentially delegated authority to strike globally to the Executive Branch, w/ a requirement that the Exec explain themselves, which it did.
Poorly. Stupidly. Yet enough for the Legislature to shrug and go, “Mmmm’kay.”
I think you’re giving trump too much credit as a planner.
He doesn’t know enough about governance or the law to make an informed and strategic decision on something like this.
She became a problem, so he ditched her.
He can of course pardon her any time, but that wouldn’t free her from questioning. To the contrary, it would potentially remove her right to stay silent under the US 5th Amendment (protection against self incrimination.)
No reason to remain silent if what you say can’t be used against you.
I can think of a number of people who are wanted and needed on a wall right now…
I know, right?
Exactly my point. :)
I’m not at all comfortable with use of the term “head” in this context.

Apologies. Tears of laughter had blurred my keyboard.
No. Not as I understand it.
Apparently not just a press com, but a live audience Q&A following delivery of a keynote.
Planning & coordination are really not this administration’s thing…
My understanding is she’s in the middle of live Q&A following a keynote while this news is breaking.

I was going to go with something along the lines of, “They already looked under every raq. Now they’re looking under a ran.”
Not my best work, but what I have in a pinch.
Closest I came to WH level work was a two year stretch on the direct small staff of a Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. Was a terrific experience!
Alas, I am not qualified to serve in the current Administration due to integrity issues. (I have a debilitating fixation on accuracy & transparency.)
Someone needs to tell Rep harrigan that when someone makes an assertion that is verifiably inaccurate, it’s called lying.
I appreciate that you took my comment in the spirit I intended & not as a personal jab. Thank you for that. :)
Solid theory, but I propose a mod I’ll call ignorance theory is applicable in this instance.
China’s action is a result of ignorant decision making by trump et al. Of disruption as a default strategy.
China’s response is entirely predictable, as their two largest suppliers are Venezuela & Iran.
If you’re a US citizen & voter, from the outside looking in you are part of the lump, whether you like it or not.
I didn’t vote for him either, but collectively We the People allowed this to happen. That’s how democracy works. It’s not your government only when run by the person you voted for…
I concur. And in that concurrence, allow my point to stand. :)
