Nipped fucking tail
I run a Hashaton deck that looks a lot like this one. Winning with jank is my favorite way to play Commander!
Two Warhammer 40,000 Tech-priest Enginseer miniatures. They wear red hooded robes and hold huge power axes.
Lexmechanic miniatures. These fellows have been bionically enhanced with robotic writing hands. They are carrying comically large numbers of scrolls.
Sicarian Infiltrator miniature. This fellow's arms and legs have been replaced with bionics, and he's stalking forward with a sword and a gun.
Fresh off the painting table, various Adeptus Mechanicus miniatures for #Warhammer40K. Enginseers, lexmechanics, and a Sicarian Infiltrator.
How often do you think about the Sarpadian Empires? #WotCstaff
Technically? Yes.
Actually? Whoβs going to count the cards in your deck?
Those oversized Ultra Pro sleeves kept appearing on the free table at work for years. I have like a case of them.
Screencap from Evangelion: the words βAbsolute Terror Field.β
Me, watching Neon Genesis Evangelion with my adult children: βWhich one of you is going to make me proud by inventing the Absolute Terror Field?β
Iβd like to make a few more Legends Retold-style cards someday. Finding the right product is the tricky part. Ur-Dragoβs name doesnβt seem like a major impediment to me; heβs canonically named after the Ur-Dragon!
Okay so I watched the original Mobile Suit Gundam and War in the Pocket. Is there anything else I need to see to understand what this whole Gundam thing is about?
Itβs from TopDeck #7!
Yeah, I'll look through my collection of TopDeck magazines for that map. I'm sure it's in one of them.
A painted Warhammer miniature of a psyker, he head swollen with power and with glowing blue eyes, holding a staff with an elaborate chaos star atop it. Chains connect his legs to weights, which barely prevent him from floating off into the sky.
Fresh off the painting table: A Rogue Psyker for #Warhammer40K
This is another data point. I'm starting to suspect that I don't know enough about football to be a functioning adult in America.
That means an alternative choice. You're switching to Plan B. I wouldn't expect someone who isn't involved in Magic's tournament culture to know that though; I believe it's slang that originated on the Pro Tour or something.
My sound design professor knew the voice actor who played General Grievous. That means you're only four degrees of separation from General Grievous himself!
That WOULD save me from having to keep it in my brainβs RAM for the next two yearsβ¦
I've started thinking about a lore thread I'm going to post here in about two years so, if civilization still exists and Bluesky still exists and I still exist by then, we have that to look forward to.
Happy birthday!
A painted Warhammer miniature. A Commissar in a peaked cap, but this one has replaced his right arm with an ork power klaw, giving him a crablike appearance.
Fresh off the painting table: Commissar Yarrick for #Warhammer40K
Image from a Magic the Gathering page-a-day calendar, depicting the card Library of Leng. The caption reads: "Many players overlook one of this artifact's less-known abilities: Whenever you are forced to discard, Library of Leng allows you to put that card on top of your library instead of in your graveyard."
It's from an issue of TopDeck magazine (the successor to The Duelist). I don't have my collection handy at the moment, so I can't recall which issue it was from.
A couple of oft-cited examples Iβve seen are the houses in Knives Out and in The Royal Tenenbaums. The statement that βthe setting is the characterβ is hyperbolic, as those settings merely say a lot about the characters who inhabit them.
Painted Warhammer miniatures. One Skaven ratman holding a spear. Two more dressed as ninjas wielding big daggers. Two giant rats.
Fresh off the painting table: Skaven and giant rats for #Mordheim.
I am apparently unable to get with the program. #WotCstaff
Sitting up with a very sick parakeet. Please send strident, high-pitched prayers.
Well, at least I can say I knew the Dog Food Queen of Puerto Rico when...
Painted Robotech miniatures in a sci-fi cityscape.
Fresh off the painting table, Valkyries and Spartans for Robotech RPG Tactics.
Thanks Mike! I may have helped to legitimize the show, but the show legitimized Magic illustrations as art, and *I* am grateful for *THAT*!
Please James Gunn hire this writer.
Those shots of the ship ploughing through the waves looked amazing! Sometimes I think I shouldβve been a sailor instead of a nerd.
