Whatever happened to anonymous refereeing? I keep receiving review requests from journals that disclose the authors’ identities. My response is no.

Taken together, the collection offers a rich and timely resource for teaching and discussion on the use of AI in mental health care.
We’re looking forward to engaging each of them in our forthcoming response.

So happy to be back in Canada 🍁 to give a talk at McMaster. Canada was my first home away from home as a 22 yr old MA student, and it still feels that way.

Just started -- but it's been brewing for a while, as both @ledaberio.bsky.social and I have been much inspired by recent very cool work by many others, especially @thebusyowl.bsky.social, Elizabeth Schechter, and Daniela Dover
🚨New Paper!🚨
Do you love authenticity? @ledaberio.bsky.social and I argue that maybe you shouldn't!
We think that everything would be better if we all just got over the idea of true selves and were cooler with the fact that we all contain multitudes.

This article raises concerns about the lack of consideration of potential harms of this technology for clinical trial participants, and current and future users.

Open Peer Commentary (OPC) proposals of roughly one paragraph are due Monday, November 10th. Please submit your proposal via the AJOB Editorial site: mc.manuscriptcentral.com/uajb
Consider proposing a commentary to the American Journal of Bioethics on the forthcoming paper Megan Delehanty and I wrote on the harms of AI psychotherapy chatbots!
Thank you! and indeed; it is astounding how there is no oversight or regulation.
There is not a lot of transparency about the design of these apps, that is part of the challenge in assessing their potential efficacy. We talk about this a little bit in this paper: www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
"There’s really barely any evidence that shows that [AI therapy chatbots] are in fact effective...We do not have longitudinal studies that look at people with diagnosis of mental disorders who did not have any other kind of help, who used these chatbots, and can say that they benefited from these.”
