While I was at the LMB I also stood on Lord Todd while he was having a nap in the stacks of the University chemistry library. As close as I will get to a Nobel Prize
At the LMB I worked doing RNA chemistry in the wider group that Max led. As a biologist, he would turn up in our lab at random to ask all sorts of questions to be sure he had the chemistry right. 'Plodder' feels very pejorative (and very Crick) where 'thorough' would have been better.
