Gotta appreciate it for how good it is now, I hope what they're doing is sustainable long term and they don't eventually enshittify like everything else has.
If they can keep this up for a while like they're doing I'll be stoked!
@jarrencrist

No idea what that is, personally
I plan to watch it as sort of a form of self flagellation, I had the same sorta thought about the SH2 remake but at least the movie will only last a couple hours instead of the 20+ or whatever the remake would have taken from my life lol.
Plus the movie might at least be funny at points.
Funnily enough the the "Rare Replay" versions of Banjo Kazooie / Tooie introduced new issues, I think there were odd bugs with the music in the latter in particular that weren't present when I've emulated the game on PC or through NSO, idk.
You can't fool me I bought that one months ago! π (My favorite of the designs though, and one of my fave tees in general)
More like "Mii-nimal!"
I like it, it's a jaunty little tune
I'm often surprised at how good 30fps or less feels in gameplay, it's not as big of a leap as people make it out to be in responsiveness.
Latency and frame pacing though, that can be pretty noticeable, at least to me.
God I love those games, and the music in them is so damn good
I know I'm jumping into someone else's conversation on here but that's encouraging to hear, I'm on the edge of turning 30 and that's what I'm hoping for too. Wishing you the best!!
I've been getting a lot of armchair medical professionals throwing that one at me haha

My fave albums I dove into this year!
Wait does this mean there are multiple pieces of mainstream cyberpunk media where Keanu plays a dude named Johnny and jacking into the digital world is a primary element of the plot?
I know the muffin man who lives on dreary lane
Hells yeah, congrats!!
This is legit on my Christmas playlist it's so good haha
I LOVE tangents for that reason, it feels like a genuine peek into the passions or interests of whoever is creating the video and makes it feel like going on a little psychological journey of related or non-related thought paths.
Seems like such a cool place. Definitely wanna go there someday!
Facts
Assuming this is inspired by a real life encounter: who even appends a "Sir" or "Madam" at the end of Merry Christmas anyway lol
Btw, Jarren just posted the songs he made for the collection on Bandcamp, check it out: jarrencrist.bandcamp.com/album/some-s...
Just another product none of us need or asked for that gets shoved down our throats and for some reason a fair amount of people buy anyway.
But I guess you could feasibly run doom on it for shits and giggles or something.
Damn I didn't realize the PS versions of these games had achievements/trophies, that's kinda fun!
Hells yeah! Listening to the OST rn actually. Great stuff by you and girls@computers!!
I mean I remember being initially drawn to Anodyne after hearing it was good and "kinda like Zelda" when I first played it years ago, so that checks out!
I've not really heard any other devs that I know talk about reddit ads at all (until your posts) so I find all this pretty interesting.
I was about to comment the same thing, I could see a kneejerk reaction being "this isn't about CRT gaming/retro gaming, it's an ad for a modern PC game with retro aesthetics/design and just feels like a promotion loosely tied to my interests."
A selection of SOUP ROOMS music made by @jarrencrist.bsky.social is now available on Bandcamp!
Jarren really knocked it out of the park and I'm eternally grateful for their support and kindness. SOUP ROOMS wouldn't have been possible without them.
Enjoy!

Your room was probably one of my faves, it's so frogulent!
I made some music & sounds for this project (and some of its rooms therein) - It's a really cool collection of art/environments by a bunch of talented ppl and a really chill game to walk around in,I highly recommend checking it out, I'm glad to have been a part of it.
I'm mixed on it all tbh, there are examples of tweaks I very much enjoy made to some of my favorite games in their remasters, but at the same time I really would love to see an easy way to access older titles as accurately as possible in current formats and not treat remakes as replacements.
Hey!
