Impressive write up but weβve been switching to iceberg more on aws. Weβve gotten a lot of weird errors in #hudi that have been hard to debug. Iceberg seems simpler and performant enough. Whatβs your experience?
Great paper about pruning from Snowflake: arxiv.org/pdf/2504.11540

continue to love an appreciate your site so much. curious how you decided which new engine to add? Maybe my experience is biased since I'm a data engineer in a corporate environment, but I was happy to see BigQuery and was hoping the next add would be Snowflake or SparkSQL
Trivia: To run modern-sql.com I've currently 195 SQL systems in my lab and 60000+ test cases.
@aendra.com love your news feed. Just an idea for you. I like seeing all the headlines but would love another feed that just included sources that arenβt paywalled. As much as I would love to support journalism, some of us just donβt have the funds for multiple subscriptions. What do you think?

Do you like databases?
Do you want to hear two database professors rant about them?
Do you need one of those professors to have a Turing Award for databases?
If yes, then join Mike Stonebraker and I next Wed Dec 10 @ 1:00pm EST for database hot takes: www.dbos.dev/webcast-2025...

Bazzite is a remarkably solid and fun distribution for running games on a personal computer, and is good for other desktop tasks as well.
Microsoft Azure CTO Mark Russinovich warns users to know the limits of what LLMs can do, and what they never do. An ACM talk.
In the end, great logging isnβt about capturing everything that happens. Itβs about capturing what matters.
