Is the show 'Small Prophets' making use of Chekhov's Flush? The main character is established in ep2 already as being suspected of having flushed evidence down a toilet. I predict this mention means he's going to end up flushing the contents of one of his *jars* (NO SPOILERS!!)

My cat, or sometimes even a strange cat, would come at me with DEMANDS. If I saw an animal 25 times my size I wouldn’t go the hell near it.
I suppose that’s why IMO to observe something as bold as cats is more than we deserve, and we’re lucky that we get to.
