Incredible resonance of this speech about tyranny, still relevant 400 years later
Legends!

This year #ASCB #cellbio2025 was not the same and plagued with organizational problems. Yet it was, as always, a great meeting! I had an awesome time reuniting with people and discovering new science.
See you all next year !
Thank you for coming to our session yesterday!
We had a blast and we hope you enjoyed the talks!
Big thanks to our speakers for showcasing what physical based thinking can bring to biological problems at all scales!
See you all next year π
My former bench mate @joellemiere.bsky.social from the @fredchanglab.bsky.social giving a killer talk about nuclear size regulation in fission yeast at #ASCB #CellBio2025
Stay tuned for the paper to come soon !
Beautiful experimental data falling on the mathematical model, no fit needed π€©
Are you interested in cytoskeleton and looking for a postdoc position? I will be advertising positions in the new year but happy to chat in person if you are attending ASCB @ascbiology.bsky.social in Philadelphia. Just drop me a line.
Congrats to all involved!
I have seen the story develop during my time in the Chang lab, and it is a real pleasure to see it out.
Looking forward to reading it!
Anyone interested in microtubule mechanics, spindle, mitosis, etc, you should check it out π
Just spin very fast, channel your inner ballerina or ice skater!

βTic tac tic tac β οΈ two days left to apply for talks at #CellBio25
ASCB Cell Bio 2025, is in Philadelphia 12/6-10. Apply for a Familycare Grant by 9/3. These flexible awards ($500) can be used towards any eligible family care expense that makes it easier for you to attend the Annual Meeting. www.ascb.org/grants-award...
Excited for our minisymposia session βPhysical Cell Biology from Molecules to Organismsβ at #CellBio25 (www.ascb.org/cellbio2025/). Do you work in #DevBio #StemCell #Biophysics #MechaBio #StructuralBio? Then, please consider submitting your work before the September 3rd deadline (shorturl.at/Y8jPq).
β° Summer break time π ποΈ
Real break = no computer so I ha to print.
Time to (re)read some oldies but goodies π€
This looks fantastic, great job!
I wish I could play with that device!
π₯ I was rocking the white sneakers earlier this week π
Great opportunity!
Are you looking for a postdoc?
I will be looking for 2-4 people after the summer to join the lab !!
Do not hesitate to reach out and disseminate !!
The link to sign up for the newsletter is dead...
Is it open to everybody, even outside the Netherlands?
β¨We are looking for a PhD student interested in physical cell bio, imaging π¬, biochemistry, #Xenopus πΈ & #microtubules β¨
Join us @mpiib-berlin.mpg.de!
The trip to get here was long π but it was worth it ! ποΈ
Looking forward to discussing cool science at the #EMBOcellularmatters
Similar physical laws and constraints, but at different scales.
Same here !
For a second, I thought it was a close-up of bacteria or fungi growing on a surface.

Today was my last class with a group of 1st year students in #Biochem & #Cellbio.
I was returning their graded exams π
Despite the overall poor performance (bad grades) they brought me presents (snacks) at the end of the class because they appreciated my teaching during the last semester π₯²
