In a year I've gotten the charity I work for from not even ranking in the top 100 to 15! Considering my job is covering all the marketing and the budget is very limited, I am feeling really proud of myself today!
Ended up getting the job. It was only because the top boss read every CV that she was able to go "No we're interviewing her". Even as a placement student I made huge changes. Another boss openly admitted he originally didn't want to hire me because I was a girl despite the best experience.
"I want people to be judged on merit" is DEI. The number of times studies have shown how even something like perceived gender or race impacted whether or not your CV is read or interviewed is actually scary. I almost didn't get interviewed once because the engineers thought my font was too girly

I've been dealing with dangerous conditions the last few weeks where vans are blocking the only pavements available for a school run route, or for those trying to access the only local park. Don't park on pavements.

A graph that shows the poverty rate from 1993 to 2023. The red line for children remains high dipping from 33% in 1993, to 30% in 2023. The lines for Working age adults with children and all people follows a similar trend, while working age adults without children increases from 15% as the lowest audience in poverty to 18%. The green line for pensioners goes from 29% and drastically dives to 13-15% for a number of years before seeing a slight increase to 16-18% from 2020-2023. The last figure sees it dipping again. Going from the second most audience likely to be in poverty, Pensioners are now least likely to be in poverty.
Graphs like this show why we need to invest in supporting parents and children. This is a graph across 1993 to 2023. Children are most like to be in poverty and pensioners have gone from an at risk audience to least likely to be struggling.

Video games are a massive time capture of art, culture, politics thoughts and beliefs often overlooked. They have shaped films, books and beyond.
That doesn't even cover accessibility for nurodiverse to improved critical thinking skills. Add in mental health and stress relief - there's less violence because of games. It's not all sunshine and flowers - there are many games aimed at young people that encourage gambling habits.
Do you know how much video games have done for education! I don't think people are aware of the change there would be in schools and what was feasible.
Look at tools like TT rock stars and it's impact on timetable retention to engagement in financial education with the Milo's Money game!
It's the first day of term for the minis and I have achieved so much work already... Also today was so much less tiring!
Seriously we are not paying teachers enough... I only had two of them and wasn't attempting to teach them anything! I don't know how teachers manage it!

I think this will have a bigger impact than people realise - a lot of charities and organisations are only staying on the other platform due to the journalist outreach strategies. No journalists there, no point staying there for many.

No this is a thing a lot of people struggle with. It's nothing to do with volume, sound quality or hearing but how different brains can function.
Add in also so my research from my dissertation around sound being used as therapy and to improve physical and cognitive function, reading being better isn't true either. It depends on the person what is best for them.
I'll actually counter this - I like many other nurospicy friends I know struggle to watch things and need subtitles. It is exhausting not having subtitles on when watching most things. I'd argue for me and many others, audio only might be more a workout.
If you want to know my favourite moment of today, it's been interrupting my eldest singing phantom of the opera but as Greebo the cat for the #terrypratchett books as she tries to guess who the phantom is in Masquerade... And I'm a trained singer so I'm getting the high notes 😅
