ik i'm still at the beginning of this new chapter in my life, but looking back, it's strangely comforting to know that all the worry, the introspection, and the hours i put into myself and my art wasn’t pointless.
it sure took a while, but i think it was necessary for me to finally move forward.
there's a sense of relief I feel now that I have a clearer idea of what I wanna do in life, and how I'll get there.
nothing's for certain of course, and i'm very much still playing this by ear, but it's alot better than the past five years or so, feeling hopelessly lost and down on myself.

it's nice to know the learning curve from working digitally to analog isn't too crazy; it's about what i expected.

kinda annoyed at myself for not trying this earlier.
as a person who much prefers shooting with film vs with a digital camera, i knew making a collage by hand would be up my alley, but i just never got around to doing it.
it feels so good to not use software to create.

set aside my mouse and keyboard for an x-acto knife and glue stick to make my very first analog collage. 😌
truly a soothing and meditative experience for me. definitely won't be my last one.

sometimes i feel kinda weird for including typography in my work if what it's saying isn't relevant to the other elements in the composition or isn't reflective of what i'm feeling in the moment
but from a visual perspective, it's great at filling in space and adds a lil somethin' to everything
definitely, i'd imagine it'd be beneficial later down the road too. good luck to those that need to do that though, cause it ain't easy..
and even if they don't invest that energy into their communities, they can preserve it for themselves! use it to create something, or to move our bodies, or both

the hold that engagement has on people is strong. it also seems like some people can't stand having a feed that doesn't feed them content 😔
ik some people depend on it for work and commissions, but man, of all websites to depend on. truly unfortunate.

it's hard to feel great about the state of the US these days, but of all things, the Superbowl halftime show gives me hope for the future. this was much needed

This year was about self-expression > everything else. I poured my heart and soul into these collages, and in return, I learned so much more about myself.
