Just watched last night for the first time! So good. (And extra impressive knowing he was missing a finger and thumb!)

So sorry to hear, Matt. Our Wes Anderson-loving family keeps your excellent Wes Anderson Collection book out on proud display (and easily accessible) in our family room.
(Jackie Chan is great at it too! He can be kicking five guysβ asses with a ladder, but his face is saying βThis is so scary, Iβm going to die!β Makes him seem more human)
This is related to my finding Harrison Ford so compelling in those movies because heβs really good at looking genuinely pants-shittingly terrified when he runs from danger
Iβve thought that about the Left Bankeβs Walk Away Renee coming out of the gate with βAnd when I see the sign that points one wayβ¦β So weird and great
I just donated to Trans Continental Pipeline to help trans people who are now not safe in Kansas relocate to Colorado. Whoβll join me?
Videotheque rules
I donβt have any recommendations but I appreciate the specificity of this outrage
Loved his work for KRAK!ed
John Severin?
Just bought it on bookshop.org! (So being annoying worked!)
He is literally the best at mashups. They always work. He is clearly a witch
Movie poster for Speechless (1994) starring Michael Keaton and Geena Davis
There was even a movie loosely based on them!
In "Intergalactic" I'm pretty sure MCA is saying "like a pinch from the neck on Mr. Spock", when it was supposed to be "like a pinch on the neck from Mr. Spock".
Still from The Lion King of Mufasa looking down on Simba from the clouds
Saw Stephen Tobolowsky at a cafe. He really is in everything!
My phone claims itβs Friday, but Iβm pretty sure this is a Sunday like yesterday was
Dazzling!
Mel Johnson Jr. in Total Recall (1990)
An older Mel Johnson Jr. on a golf course in an episode of Marvel's Jessica Jones (2018)
This is crazy. Last night my son and I watched Total Recall. Enjoyed Mel Johnson Jr. as Benny. Then today I'm randomly watching a 2018 episode of Jessica Jones and I'm like "Wait, is that--?", and it WAS. Mel Johnson Jr. AGAIN, less than 24 hours later! It's a Christmas Mel-racle!
So good. I saw this before I saw the actual movie. Just like Frank Capra would've wanted.
Thatβs ridiculous, itβs Wigh Fidelity
There had to be presidents he didn't know anything about, so the plaque's like: "You don't hear Rutherford as a first name much. What a beard he had. I never tried to grow a beard, but if I did it'd be full and lush like that. The fullest. This guy would've been a Trump fan like Reagan was. The End"
Just the amount of text on each plaque should trigger the 25th Amendment
Thank *you*! Big fan of your stuff. (About to give my daughter your Long Goodbye t-shirt as a gift. She loves that movie and loves cats)
"Sunshine Skulls" t-shirt by Jeff T. Owens, with a cool illustration of oranges and orange blossoms, but the oranges are skulls
Florida can be awesome sometimes. My mixed feelings about my home state are captured in the shirt I happen to be wearing right now, with this killer design by @jtotheartist.bsky.social
That sounds amazing. I had a transcendent experience just watching it in my living room for the first time a year or so ago. Then went through all the Hulot films and rewatched Playtime. Won't be the last time.
I had the same reaction when I (recently) heard Dvorakβs New World symphony for the first time! I donβt want to spoil the specifics for new listeners, but letβs just say multiple parts clearly had a big influence on John Williams π
