Went to the French bookstore yesterday to buy some easy reading material. The shopkeeper saw me pick up an adaptation of Jaws, so swiftly went for the jugular and fetched this beauty from the backβ¦. A huge hardback graphic novel about the life of George Lucas. Absolutely loving it so far!

James Doohan as Scotty sits at a control console aboard the USS Enterprise, wearing a red Starfleet uniform with a black collar and a delta insignia on his chest. He leans slightly forward with one hand resting on the console, his dark hair neatly combed to the side. Behind him are colorful control panels and futuristic set walls characteristic of the original Star Trek series bridge.
James Doohan wasnβt just Montgomery "Scotty" Scott, he was also a Canadian who served his country and landed on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. Then he turned to acting, was trained by Lorne Greene and even helped develop the Klingon language.
This is his story.

FACT OF THE DAY. 3 March 1943. 173 people were killed during a crush while trying to enter an air-raid shelter at Bethnal Green Station, London during a bombing raid. This was the worst British civilian loss of life in a single bombing incident during the Second World War.

There's no denying this silly 100% AI piece (made in a single day) will bring Hollywood to its knees. The modern blockbuster is over. Hopefully, smaller indie films, fully created by humans, will be deemed premium content by the masses now. youtu.be/V5AFQaEbHQU?...

Starsky & Hutch: Detective Game. The box has a painting of them in the Gran Torino at night next to a bunch of photos of them from the tv show.
Fellas, you may think your wife is cool, but has she ever gone shopping at a Savers and then come home with a 1977 Starsky and Hutch board game for you?

Last nightβs read: May 1942 issue of Thrilling Mystery. A few good stories, including one that anticipates the plot of Highsmithβs Strangers on a Train (1950). A bizarre tale by Frank Belknap Long to cap it off (about a cult and moths with human faces).

My temptation is to say Colonel Kilgore in Apocalypse Now as my personal favourite of Robert Duvall's. In truth, I feel the finest performance he ever gave was in George Lucas's terrifyingly prescient debut feature, 'THX 1138'.
If you haven't seen it, you need to!
