At the height of the first gulf war, which had a narrow stated objective, George H W Bushes approval was in the 90’s. He still lost reelection because of the economy.

I’m beginning to think primaries are flawed. In Maine we have one candidate pushing 90 and another with questionable judgement. In Texas we have two stellar candidates wasted on the same race.
