From 🐦:

"I show that Vision Language Models used zero-shot outperform every existing OCR system across every script evaluated, and I propose a pipeline for deploying them on new collections. I apply it to six archival collections spanning 1.8 million pages across six countries for under $1,900."

This is also the second time on 2 days I've seen an Anti AI thread on here that has essentially been the poster trying to sell their book.

I'm really stuck on the idea that so many of the people who don't see the value/use cases of LLMs have never actually worked in industry/corporate at an operational level.

Like yeah it's bad, a lot of tedious and often ultimately pointless admin and comms, that I can now reduce my time on by 75%

Ed Epstein wrote that he first met Jeffrey Epstein in 1987, at a party. Jeffrey Epstein upgraded his flight tickets, let him stay at his properties, and introduced him to others. By early 1989, Ed Epstein became aware of multiple instances of what he believed were fraud and other instances of legal market manipulation, and he wrote an article titled "The Win-Win Game" about this in a column for Manhattan, inc. magazine. He did not name Jeffrey Epstein in the article, but he identified him as a grifter and fabulist, and Jeffrey stopped speaking with him after its publication.[19][20][21]

According to Ed Epstein, in 1996 Jules Kroll sent an investigator to ask Ed Epstein about Jeffrey Epstein as part of an investigation they were conducting for Les Wexner's L Brands. Kroll's investigators had already determined that Jeffrey Epstein was a former Brooklyn roofer with a faked resume.[20][22]

Think this page needs some updating.

Quite rare to see a chart that says quite so overtly that no one involved has the slightest clue what’s happening here

The body is good, but underneath has some bad spots that I want to get looked at. Overall condition is good for its age I think.

Been looking at these for years and couldn't justify it. Went for a very late 400 instead of an early 450.

Battery is much cheaper to replace, and it's from somewhat peak toyota era . I bought it at a price im ok with investing a bit more, and majority of my driving is motorway.

Still somewhat haunted by the Biden saying 'welcome home' to Trump at the start of this term.

Quite possibly. It's supposedly the twin turbo diesel, but it's incredibly sluggish and requires considerable enthusiasm to get moving. Did not notice this at all in the Amarok which should have the same engine and transmission.

Driving a current generation Ford Ranger at the minute, and despite it being the same vehicle as the current VW Amarok, it feels so much worse to drive for some reason.

They're all such 'characters' which is all that really matters, the content... sure we disagree about really important things that mean life or death for others, but on the other hand, fascinating conversations with very interesting people.

You're saying that regular fleets won't spend millions to build charging infrastructure that they must sign NDAs to even look at, after spending the millions, and be bound by private arbitration for any contract disputes.
