My goals also include actively deleting stuff. Technical debt, non-functional parts that we just carry along as it takes time to remove, will have to face their fate. Somehow I'm more excited about this and other maintenance projects than creating the new stuff.
We did/do it during hybrid talks: make everyone post their questions at the same online forum and have the chair read them. This already filters out a lot of narcissistic and bullying Qs. As a speaker it's a bit weird at first not knowing who to address the answer to but overall it's a better setup
Our local library is superb for ebooks, but also for audiobooks. And the app moved the whole experience to the next level: no late fees for forgetting about a book, it sends reminders and then returns everything on time
And now I opened this link into a tab as a useful looking tool that I should come back later to try out 😅
After a long hiatus I was at a conference full of talks. It was awful. Then I just realized that I got spoiled with events where the "Hallway Track" is a fully legit and most treasured feature and people choosing it over talks are celebrated rather than shamed (and anyway the talks will be on YT).
Congrats to the 2025 BSSw Fellowship Class! Making #scientificsoftware & #developerproductivity better!
