There's a vast difference between setting up new story directions and kicking the can down the road. Superhero comics have a real problem with confusing the former for the latter.

Tangential: Oliver Stone's Alexander (final cut) is a terrible movie but the sequence centered on the assassination of Phillip could have been the entire movie.

Finally caved into "man in his 30s" pressure to start reading a book about Alexander the Great because I got so mad reading Aristotle that I have to know how badly being taught by that guy influenced Alexander.

Plato had some stupid ideas, but Aristotle couldn't even let himself dream a whole dream.

I started developing unit plans for a comics course I get to start teaching next year, and I really enjoy the process of designing curriculum so much. Wish the job left more space for that.
