Fun fact: In the Primary, Katie Wilson's vote share increased 4.54% from Election Day (when they counted about 50% of ballots) to the final count.

In the General, her share has increased 4.51% from Wednesday's drop (when they counted just about 50% of ballots) to now.

Amazingly consistent.

(That 94% was in 2021 I mean)

More than "seems" behind. KC Elections has only counted about 82% of likely total ballots as of Friday. In 2021, they had counted 94% of total ballots as of the Friday after Election Day.

Sign me up for this campaign. Fauntleroy/Alaska is worst intersection in the west, with possible exception of California/Edmunds/Erskine. Give me walk all ways on that second one at very least!

Their online thing has definitely lagged this year on the turnout #s. Wish I knew where their post got that info from though, it’s a lot of votes!

More progress will feel a lot better ofc! But very plausible she could hit 60% of the Monday drop, so if today’s drop gets her in range to win with 60% Monday, don’t return the champagne yet

07.11.2025 20:22 πŸ‘ 4 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Yup looks same to me. So I think she doesn’t even need to get 54% of the drop today if the *next* drop is as expected. Which is confusing.

The online reporting thing is just updated but only showing 279,044 ballots. They posted here 286,731 ballots. Pretty big difference given the margins we're looking at so which one is right, my spreadsheet needs to know. Any insight @ronpdavis.bsky.social @guyoron.net ?

07.11.2025 20:12 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

That's *usually* Thurs and Fri. But we didn't get to 50% counted until Wed this year. And we're not going to pass 75% until today. We're like 3/4 of a day behind.

07.11.2025 20:03 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

FWIW I think there's a similar kind of issue with looking at the drop by *day*. The more accurate x-axis is looking at it by share of total vote counted. The big swings in 21 and the primary seem to happen when we hit about 75% counted and about 92% counted.

I'm hoping the opposite is true ofc. But honestly I have your reaction to this chart β€” this seems to show turnout weaker among the older, sort of the opposite of what I'd picture a Harrell backlash general election to look like

07.11.2025 20:01 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

don't we have to also look at the *share* of the population in each of those cohorts? Like if there are more 65+ voters than before, their turnout could go down but they could also be a larger share of the electorate

Anyone know why this graph shows 286,731 ballots while the their data visualization thing shows 278,906?

07.11.2025 19:07 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

It’s a weird definition. They used to say β€œready to count” in the tracker but everyone would anxiously await for it to move to β€œcounted”… but it never did because they can’t track your ballot anymore. I think they figured this is better than that? Probably right!

07.11.2025 02:43 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

So "counted" really means "will be counted". But doesn't mean it's reflected in the posted #s

07.11.2025 01:34 πŸ‘ 4 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

confusingly, that just means that's it's "ready to count" β€”Β i.e they verified the sig and it's good to go through the counting machines. But we never know when it's actually counted in the tally because at that point it's separated from your info because it's a secret ballot.

maybe you could call them and ask?

07.11.2025 00:08 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

They counting the drop boxes today?

06.11.2025 22:57 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

I agree but for this which made me wonder bsky.app/profile/krom...

Sorry are you saying zero drop box votes have been counted, or zero Election Day drop box votes?

06.11.2025 00:43 πŸ‘ 4 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Got it ironed out, thank you!

04.11.2025 19:35 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Ok online tracker now shows counted. What was up with the email with the wrong name though?

04.11.2025 18:08 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Hey @elections.kingcounty.gov you sent me an email saying you received my ballot, but you listed a totally different name in that email. Text says you got ot, online tracker with my info says no. How can I tell if you got mine or not?

The switch that flipped in Seattle politics The sight of unimaginable Big Tech wealth at the gates of American democracy shook Seattle politics. The mayor, among others, may not survive the quake.

Funny thst Danny Westneat gave a column to Tim Ceis to pre-spin his clients that they didn’t waste money on Harrell, actually he’s gonna lose because of Trump & tech CEOs. Not cause of Harrell & Ceis & that lot at all.

Amazing campaign email content that definitely wasn't written by AI β€”Β Sara Nelson "can think outside the box because she knows the box."

Nice attempt to make this look like it came from KUOW

It also remains interesting (if a bit predictable) that Harrell's entire pitch against Wilson seems to be that Seattle can't accomplish big things and must accept the inadequate status quo.

Ah. In fairness to all, understanding wtf the man is saying requires a lot of interpolation (and tolerance for unmodulated vocal
changes). So who can really say what he means by words 🀷

I’ve flipped. I’m now in favor of Rob Saka using AI on his newsletters because it’s better than when he just improvises bullshit like this : www.theburnerseattle.com/post/council...
