The impact goes far beyond fed employees. Contractors will be furloughed w/o back pay, including low paid jobs like cleaning and food service. Not all contractors are paid $$$. Restos etc frequented by feds suffer. Dog walkers lose income bc feds are home. Etc. It hits a lot more than fed employees.
