As a south Seattleite, transit rider, and urban studies nerd, I truly appreciate the utter chaos of the @kingcountymetro.bsky.social route 50 getting me east to west, but it has me wondering what other absolutely bizarre, city-spanning routes we have??? Anyone care to share??

I have a rule that anywhere that requires me to make more than one bus transfer is not worth it. Tragically, today, going from north beacon hill Dr appt to a get together in Greenwood is forcing me to break my rule 😭😭😭

Agreed. Didn’t even know CWC was coming to Seattle until a few months ago. Been looking forward to the WC for the better part of a decade.

That resulted in a more democratically created policy than anything that passes a legislature or council. If you want real change, do as @jacobinmag.bsky.social says, look to your local initiatives.

Additionally, as the policy advisor for Seattles social housing initiative, I can confidently say that the the amount of community input we got in the development of I-135 was far more extensive than any elected would ever seek. We spent months talking to impacted people and experts…

But someone w/ a lot of bags who is using the link as a place to rest is loudly, rudely, abruptly woken up by transit security.

Throwback to when I nerded out in Hong Kong every time I saw a sign for a *free* public restroom. They were everywhere, with clear signage.

Metro to start checking fares on the bus is another way to criminalize the poor. A reminder to all who don’t pay, you do not need to show fare enforcement your ID — tell them you forgot it if you run into an issue.

It is absolutely wild to claim that a monopolistic housing provider is the same as the government wanting to provide housing. Government provides housing for the public benefit. Monopolies controlled by profit-seeking entities use their power to price gouge and provide sub-standard housing

Also, whats so funny about all of this is that the reason it was in February instead of November is thanks to the conservative @seattletimes-rss.bsky.social -backed council. They’re pissy that turnout of the conservative electorate was low but they chose to have an off-year, off-month election
