there are *many* correct coding solutions β€” the metaphorical cat has infinite ways to be skinned.

β€œdid you write this or was it the robot? Oh, the robot β€” i think it’s robotting it too hard. Can you tighten it up?”

When it comes to AI agents / AI tooling + coding, I hear an awful lot of talk about:

Efficiency

Iteration speed / PR output rate / lines of codes produced

I hear zero mentions about:

Quality

Customer obsession

This will bite back, and it probably already is...

Salesforce Plans to Raise Up to $25 Billion to Fund Buybacks Salesforce Inc. is planning to sell as much as $25 billion of debt to fund a share buyback, according to people with knowledge of the matter, in what would be the software firm’s biggest-ever note sale.

Can someone explain the finance math here? Borrowing money to buy stocks. Which is effectively people giving you money to give other people money and the people who will be selling the stocks to you are probably the same people buying the debt? Who you then pay again?

Someone should robot-port core internet infra (dns, ip stacks, load balancers, ssl terminators etc) from the current 'industry standard' implementations into… rust? Zig? Idk, lang is the point… *and then deploy it to the internet*. How does it do? Time to First breach?

you can’t be told, you had to see it with your own eyes. Only then will you understand. (The matrix? Total recall? Some sort of movie)

Coding Agents are 3D Printers for software LLM coding tools are powerful, transformative, and will absolutely generate you a pile of plastic goo if you let them.

Realized I now self censor when writing about AI productivity using this heuristic
1. General thoughts on AI productivity - post here
2. Detailed examples of how I use AI at work - mostly internal at work to avoid "you're automating yourself out of a job" style replies
3. We're cooked - group chats
