The payment model for this run of merch is:
-content submission
-art is selected
-we manage production, incurring cost
-we sell merch to our listeners
-the full difference between production price and sale price goes to the artist

Our first merch run will be shirts, we will definitely get stickers going in the future, and any designs not used this first time around may very well be used in the future, under which circumstances we would still pay 100% of the “profit” margin to the artist.
The best thing to do would be listen to a few episodes, see if you get a sense that this will be a fun project for you, and start working on some art that you think people will like!
We hope the design submissions will capture the energy and essence of the show.
How artists do that is up to them! We have a lot of personality and bunch of running jokes, and those things seem to lend themselves to a lot of possibilities.
We are independent not corporate
Part of our artist support is artist payment, people shouldn’t work for free.
Our plan is to take all merch sale “profit” (cost greater than manufacturing and S+H) and return that to the artist. This is not a source of show revenue, more so brand engagement.
Hi @zorrenvale.bsky.social! This art is mostly fan submission, we have a few artists in our community, and hopefully a bunch of other folks who want to play along.
This will probably convert to a maximum of about 100 sales of this first piece of merch.
No problem!
I would say we have a few running gags that would likely speak to our listeners, the 5 Heads.
If characters are what you’re inclined too, I think caricature of us, the hosts based on some of our foibles and idiosyncrasies might be fun.
Happy to talk more! No problem at all!
That’s awesome, @olivialiana05.bsky.social we look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Any sale amount greater than production cost and S+H will go to the artist. Not a commissioned piece of art, rather 100% margin sales commission.
Merch isn’t a revenue stream for us, it’s for the artists
@galys-gallery.bsky.social any sale amount greater than production cost and S+H will go to the artist. Different prints require different production procedures, so we aren’t yet sure what the margin/ merch item will be.
Short answer, yes, this is not a profit venture for us, artists will be paid

I played the fuck out of “The Movies.”
Watched ‘Enemy’ three weeks ago. Huh.
Would love to hear you and Isaiah take this one on.
Can I sell you some “Scores, Not Soundtracks”?
For sure a Top 5 Submarine Movie
Just recorded 🍌 “Top 5 Second Bananas”🍌
Was a chaos muppet/order muppet conversation necessary? We thought so!
Did the conquistadors somehow make an appearance? Of course they did.
We will prevail (and go to sleep) 💙
No matter what, any artist contributing to our show is going to get paid.
We want communities of mutual support among creators and are committed to doing our part.
We absolutely are going to do a lot of stickers in the future, and as I’ve said elsewhere in this thread, even if we don’t use the design this time around, we may very well use it in the future.
Great question @jasminecarter.bsky.social! This first run is going to be shirts; you can submit with as many colors as you like, and in the printing process, we may reduce the number of screens required for the printing (unless I can find a better spot printing price).
Hi @olivialiana05.bsky.social! You have a really fun aesthetic!!!
We aren’t therians, though we are supportive of the community. That being said, we ourselves are characters, and we have a lot of lil’ guy themed content. If that inspires you, we would love to receive a submission from you!
This is only our first merch release, we are excited to continue to grow as a show, and I’m glad that you want to be a part of that!!!
@valegrid.bsky.social I’ve checked out your portfolio, and your artwork absolutely rocks. We would be lucky to have any of your designs featured in our merch. Even if you make a submission that isn’t selected in this first run, we would be absolutely stoked to use some of your work in the future
Hit us up with a DM, and we can send you an email address, or you can always submit it to our Patreon, where we have a free tier with almost full access, and a great community.
@galys-gallery.bsky.social we love that you want to be part of it.
You should definitely listen to a few episodes of the show, fall in love with it, get obsessed, share it with all of your friends, and then create some art that matches our tone, energy, and show themes.
@artchaoses.bsky.social we hope the design submissions will capture the energy and essence of the show.

…and we won’t use AI. It runs contrary to our desire to support artists.
We’ll feature it in the show where we review the design submissions, but we won’t select it.
Oh, we are very anti-AI “slop.” Some of our listeners shared AI content with us, and we appreciate that this is them showing love, using a tool that allows them to capture the designs they have in mind, even if they aren’t yet feeling confident in their artistic abilities…
If you are hoping for an up-front commission, that isn’t what we are doing this time around… but we do appreciate your hustle and outreach!
We will for sure be rooting for your promising career! We hope you join us as our show grows!
If you read all this and are still interested, we would love for you to listen to a few episodes of the show, fall in love with it, get obsessed, share it with all of your friends, and then create some art that matches our tone, energy, and show themes.
