University of Canterbury and KnowYourStuffNZ team up to trial new drug checking technology A team of researchers and drug checkers are delighted to announce a new research project trialling an innovative method for testing the contents of illicit drug samples.

At the moment this is all for SCIENCE! But watch this space - we're always collaborating with other organisations to develop new methods and technology.

If it works like we hope it will it'll be able to tell us how much of the sample you give us is psychoactive ingredient. This means you can figure out your dose with a specific batch, and it's another bit of harm reduction advice we can give you to help keep you safer.

Friends, this is big news. At the moment our FTIRs can tell you what a sample has in it, but an NMR can tell us how much of what ingredients are in the sample and this is SUPER COOL*.
