Image is of Peterborough Cathedral. A broad frontage with 3 arches and 2 towers either side. Ornately carved and with a projecting porch in the lower portion of the middle arch.
The green in front is not very evident. The sky is a deep blue and there are just a few wisps of cloud. The sun is shining and there are deep shadows in the arches.

Northampton All Saints is a Georgian church, with a pillared portico with a balustrade and ornaments on top. Behind, there is a square tower with a clock, louvres and lantern. The whole is illuminated by a light show in this picture, with images of flames playing across the frontage. The sky is the deep blue of early evening

Towcester, an ironstone tower with some limestone banding either side of the West window. The tower is partially obscured by the large evergreen bushes in the vicarage garden. The tower has 4 stages, a clock in the 3rd and the louvres in the 4th. There are crenelations.
The church is behind the tower, the north aisle is partially visible. The sky is a uniform grey and it looks a bit chilly.

This is an odd looking church. You can't see it easily from here, but the tower is almost detached, with just a low passageway connecting the church and tower. It was originally home to a college of monks. The tower and church are of mixed stone construction, with ironstone giving the distinctive reddish colouring. The octagon is supposed to have been used as a navigational beacon for crossing the Nene. We see the tower poking above evergreens trees which mostly obscure the church from this vantage point. The tower had a set of louvres visible then the octagon and a short lead roofed turret topping the thing off. The sky of blue and the grass of the churchyard is neatly trimmed.

I've been reminded of this photo of the ladies of the peal band, with the clergy. I'd love to know if they rang in the hats, ladies would have worn a hat in church at the time and there as some debate (probably mostly male) about the decorum of ladies wearing a hat to ring.

We're looking at the West end of Pattishall church. It is above us, in a raised churchyard, with a grassy churchyard on a rising slope. The West end comprises a tower and 2 side aisles visible. A sandstone construction with ironstone facings lit by a setting sun, it is golden. The tower consists of 3 stages, the lower having a door and dual lancet window. The mid section has the clock (~7:50 by the way). The upper section has an opening divided into 2 louvres. There's then a small space before the top of the tower. The sky is a clear blue of a summer evening.

A very square tower is in front of us, with the church away and to the right. There are 3 stages of the tower, with corner buttresses in the first stage, and a window in the West wall. There's a small round window in the second stage and louvres in the third stage. The third stage also looks to have been added later, as it it a slightly different colour. It is topped with a crenelated parapet.
The sky is blue and there's a large evergreen to the right of the image, casting a shadow across the church.

The church looks low, but only because the spire is so tall. The nave & clerestory are visible, in local sandstone with ironstone banding. 2 large windows are visible in the nave wall.
Above, the tower is extended by the spire, with is buttressed at its base and has 3 sets of lights moving up to the top.
The sky is almost entirely blue and the tree visible to the right has bare branches.

Yelvertoft church looks like it has had several phases of building. The chancel is to the left of the image and has a large 3 light window with a shallow arched top. To the right is then what might be a vestry, with a square headed window. Further right there is the nave and a side aisle, which has a different roof pitch to the vestry and has shallow arched topped windows. The clerestory has square headed windows. Furthers right is the tower, which is square, with tapered corner buttresses and a crenelated parapet. The whole is from a mottled ironstone. The graveyard is lush green grass and the sky is a threatening grey.

A nightime picture of Hardingstone church. We are looking down the church path, flanked by evergreen bushes, which are lined with fairy lights. The path to the church is wet and glistening in the reflected light. The tower is in front of us, a simple square tower with a door, clock, louvres, crenelated parapet and pinnacles. The tower is of a pale stone and it;s slightly coarsely cut. The church is to the left and the roof is visible. The sky is dark, the trees surrounding the church are lit bu the flood lights.

Guilsborough church is behind its ironstone churchyard wall. The church is obscured by a large ancient yew, hiding the join between nave and chancel. Gretton church is pictured in sunshine, with a sky of white clouds and patches of blue. Against this, the ironstone tower stands out clearly. The tower is to the left of the image, with, in a paler stone, several bands around the tower, a crenelated parapet and pinnacles on each corner.
The church is in a different stone, a much lighter colour and smoother surfaces. There are 2 roseate windows in the wall of the nave, above the side aisle. Facing us is a porch and an extension (a vestry?) with a large window facing us.
The churchyard grass is neatly cropped and there are a number of grave marker. There are a number of tress around the church, all in full leaf.

This is an unusual church. The tower is to the right, the body of the church is to the left and away from us. We can see 2 faces of the tower. In 3 stages, it dates from the 12thC. The tower has an unusual pitched roof and there are only a few small windows in tower's west face. In the lower stage of the North face of the tower we can see 3 blind arches of an arcade.
Of the church we can see the North side aisle and porch above wich is a short clerestory of 3 bays. The church is of a brown/grey rubble stone.
The church is set on top of a slope and we can see the fields of Northamptonshire spread out beyond the church. There are trees framing the church on either side of our view and the sky is an almost cloudless blue. The grass in front of us is closely mown and slightly parched. The image makes me think of a hot August.

Dallington church sits very low to the ground, the tower barely sticks it's top up higher than the nave.
We're looking at it from the Chancel end and the chancel end is to the right of the image, with a large 3 light arched window showing clearly.
There is a collection of bushes in the middle of the image, hiding the chancel wall from us. We can see the nave is a little higher and there's a side aisle to the left of the image. The tower is just visible over the nave roof. It has louvres and is topped with crenelations and a flag pole flying a red flag.
The church is from a mixed colour ironstone, the East wall of the chancel in particular has a variety of different colour stone blocks.
