When I turned off location permissions a few weeks ago I noticed this alert. I didn't think there was anything to it, but I started paying attention, and they are prioritizing other cars that arrive after me.
Screenshot from Walmart app checkin screen showing an alert saying "Want a quicker pickup next time? Share your location.
If you turn off location permission for the Walmart app and they will punish you with longer wait times on your curbside pickups.
Diabolical.
I assumed this was going to be a squeaker. Not so, apparently.
This week's episode of @the-downballot.com should be interesting.

Standing implies weight, not relief. You canβt stand without bearing weight. This version of meaning offers a more coherent understanding. It lets you say:
This hurt me, and it mattered.
I donβt understand it, and Iβm not leaving the question.
I will act as if truth and dignity still count.
To say that "this [bad thing] happened for a reason, or everything works out in tne end, the suffering refines you. But this doesn't require you to live in either the pain. Instead it lifts you above it.
Meaning is something that you stand in, not something that rescues you.

Age of social media. There was no point at which it's contributions to society exceeded its costs. There has been nothing but one long continuous era of dumpster fire with no end in sight.
Canceling Pride because of "the political environment" is evidence you never understood what Pride was.
It isn't about yielding to the politics of the moment but changing them.

I remember history teachers who would suddenly get excited and run pull down a map to help tell a story. You just can't go hard like that on a smart board.
I get sentimental thinking about maps. I love old style classroom maps. Digital classroom displays have displaced the retractable physical map, but I wish I could find a vintage map for my classroom.
I'm not a Marxist, but it is hard not to think about this in terms of labor vs capital dialectics.
Today I'm attending my annual active shooter first aid recertification. Every day I pass a tourniquet box on my way to teach. Just 2 reminders that our society accepts mass shootings as inevitable. Instead of solving the gun crisis, we train teachers to stop the bleeding.

We live in difficult times. If you've been struggling with your mental health, know that you aren't alone. It's ok to ask for help when you need it.
The maximum campaign donation limit is indexed to inflation but the minimum wage is not.
The President sees a bad jobs report, and responds by getting rid of the person in charge of the statistics. This is how America becomes a third-rate country.
Think about what the GOP is revealing with their attempt to suddenly change the Congressional maps: they know their agenda is so unpopular that they're going to lose unless something changes.
Of course, what they should be changing is their policies, not the maps.
I'm proud to support @aarondfordnv.bsky.social to be the next governor of Nevada!
Along with the whole Traverse City community, Chasten and I are shaken by the awful and senseless violence at Walmart earlier today. Weβre thinking of everyone affected and hoping and praying for speedy recovery for all those who were injured.
