As part of Spike Island Open Studio I will be opening my studio the Friday and Sunday of the weekend. If you are in Bristol, please call in and say hello.
The Clearing House explores the intersections of Cold War secrecy, diplomacy, and speculation. Blending archival documents, newspaper headlines, and local hearsay, this project interrogates how speculation fills the gaps left by secrecy, exposing it as a tool of the powerless.
In 2013, I cycled across America from New York to San Francisco over six months. Traveling by bike gave me a slower, more immersive perspective. Passing through small towns, I formed a deeper connection to both the landscape and the people I met along the way.
In 2012, I photographed the final days of Columb Barracks in my hometown, Mullingar. It was the last surviving artillery barracks in Ireland, but the government was shutting it down as part of cost-cutting measures. Originally built by British forces in 1814, the barracks had a long history.
