Have you raised hell today?
Have you raised hell today?
This is it. Way past time for everyone in this country - literally everyone - to find practical ways to support trans people and immigrants, this regime's primary targets.
Starting right now, find something practical to do to actually help people.
DMV FGC cornerstone and friend of mine Ludovic Mbock has unfortunately been detained by ICE. Folks are trying to raise money for his legal fees, please donate if you can.

A U.S. patent document with engineering sketches for the "pizza saver." Diagrams show a small plastic three-legged "table" maintaining space between food (pizza) and the lid of a cardboard box. The document includes a header with the date "Feb. 12, 1985."
Happy Pizza Table Day! It's the 41st anniversary of the US patent for the "pizza saver" being issued to Carmela Vitale on Feb. 12, 1985.
A similar patent was first issued to Claudio Daniel Troglia in Argentina on Feb. 28, 1974.
So from Feb. 12-28, you can celebrate by ordering some pizza!

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call βsymbolic compliance.β
Thatβs when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

Heartbreaking words from Dr. STONE mangaka Boichi, who decided to stop posting art on X because of the implementation of the GenAI Edit button
and who has been so distressed by its hostile, destructive purpose to destroy other artists' works that he hasn't been able to eat properly since Christmasπ’

Two watercolour and ink pieces, side by side. One features a naked person floating in a sitting, slightly curled up pose, on a black background. They're holding a bow and pulling it's string and an arrow pointed towards themselves. Thorny vines grow around them. The text says: "If I am not to blame, then where do I point my arrow?" The second piece is also on a black background, but this time it's a broken bow and a few broken arrows hidden in a curly plant with vibrant leaves ranging in colour from green to yellow to orange, blue and purple. The text on this one says: "I will grow stronger and kinder "

In light of todayβs conversation on academic accommodations, Iβm going to revive a thread lost to time when I deleted my Twitter profile.
Itβs about a bunch of academic accommodations that instructors can offer in lieu of an extension on an assignment. π§΅
