If you plan to attempt a Wayland only experience AMD is your best bet. On X11 with latest drivers NVIDIA should be doing better although I hear it is fairly good on Wayland too (for new cards only) but not on the level that AMD is out of the box.

Few addons in my list I need as heavily as OPie, it's such a huge QoL for me.
Entirely understandable on the later two, it can take a bit to adjust or some never do at which point you might opt for them to call you differently.

Spinning wheel replaces drop spindle. Nothing wrong with that. Generative AI replaces thinking. The ability to think for yourself will always be important. People that want to control and oppress you want to limit your ability to think for yourself as much as possible, but continuing to practice it allows you to resist them.
