FDA reverses course, agrees to review Moderna’s flu vaccine The FDA reversed course and told Moderna it would review its application for a new flu vaccine, the company announced Wednesday.

Unclear to me what accounts for this change, but I suppose it's good news:

Exclusive: Key US infectious-diseases centre to drop pandemic preparation Staff members have been instructed to scrub this topic and β€˜biodefense’ from the agency’s website.

Sure sure let’s order the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) to end all pandemic preparedness and biodefense work.

WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?

4 times as many measles cases in few weeks than US typically averages in year: CDC There have been 733 cases so far this year, a CDC report said.

Remember: In the prevaccine era, measles would peak in late winter- early spring. Don’t be surprised if in the next few weeks we see a surge

When I got my first computer, many decades ago, reformatting/reinstalling was a ritual, something I learned to do every 6 months (give or take) to undo all my weird experiments with the OS. And even today, 30 years later, doing this is comforting. Installing old Windows in VMs gives me peace.

Bill Foege was a public health legend. His loss is profound, particularly at this time. That he died at the end of the week in which the US withdrew from #WHO & the chair of ACIP mused about whether polio & measles vaccination are still needed β€” no words. www.statnews.com/2026/01/25/w...
