On the dryingshelf
I’m still working on these more classic teapot shapes, which i started doing recently. Working on, meaning understanding the spout, pouring, waterflow and so on. It’s quite a science actually, to get it right.
Also achieving a balance between all the elements a teapot consists of, is quite a task, i think. Size of handle, to match the size of the whole teapot. The curve of the handle, to underline the shape of the body. The placement of the spout and curve of it, to ensure a good waterflow, but also look aestetically nice on the body. The lid.. big or small, tall or flat, knob or none, following the body or standing out.
There’s always things to discover, focus on and improve. New skills to learn.
To me, it’s not about trying to achive perfect, but more an interesting proces and development over time.

Might look all grey to you, but they are already colorful in my imagination.

Freshly thrown little sketches
Sketch = letting hands decide outcome without planning or thinking too much. Just going with the flow. Such a nice way to warm up after a break at the wheel.
