Blur-Daddy now blurs faces in videos π»
No tracking yet, so detection runs every frame. You can see blurred faces in distance flickering as a result and memory usage is quite high still. Still, milestone 2 complete!

Blurred and unblurred faces from different angles side by side
Interviewer: βHowβs Blur Daddy coming along?β
Me: βNow he doesnβt just blur faces, he caresses the pixels with soft, gentle transitions.β
Interviewer: βPromoted on the spot.β
-----------------------
Update: Blur looks much nicer now
#buildinpublic #opensource
Haha, it's just harmless word play π
That's a great usecase! I'm going for selective face blurring in videos ultimately, along with tracking etc.
A grid of 16 faces, each face is blurred
Interviewer: βWhat did you build?β
Me: βBlur Daddy. Because sometimes you just need someone to take controlβ¦ of your pixels.β
Interviewer: βYouβre hiredβ

Screenshot of TypeScript code in Cursor IDE showing the user has asked the code assistant "explain this type to me, i'm new to typescript" while a line with the code below is selected: "updates: Partial<Omit<Job, 'id' | 'workflow_id' | 'created_at' | 'job_type'>>" and the AI assistant has responded with a very detailed explanation of what every piece of that line means and what the combined effect is.
Cursor already enables thousands of these micro-improvements to a dev's life. Yes you can hover on Partial and Omit to get what they are, but Cursor goes beyond simple definitions. Perfect for picking up new things. This one's simple though. #buildinpublic
Why are AI videos so popular these days? Every other video on instagram reels is an AI created slop
I detest doing the same thing twice. Replaying 30 minutes of a game cuz I forgot to save felt agonizing as a kid. I avoid that in coding by committing frequently. Did a single thing? Commit. Thatβs it.

That's a good idea, thanks! I'll try that first. Since this is a self-host solution, there won't be a crazy amount of egress traffic.
so nice!
why not both?
DONβT CHECK MY PROFILE HEADER.
seriously, donβt. itβs empty. no header. no creativity.
why? cuz I have NO IDEA what to put there.
okay, maybe one idea.
but definitely donβt create a tool where I can click a button to update it with a checklist. that would be overkill.

Is this really Mark Cuban's account? strange times
Well done, this is super nice to see!

That's actually a great idea!
Appreciate it!
Thanks Borut, I went with it! If you're into board games and have a few old ones lying around, take a look: gamesw.app
Of course! As soon as I can get some traffic to the page I'll start with some A/B testing.
Not a bad idea! I'll play around with an icons-only version and see if it looks better.
Appreciate the feedback. I like your suggestion, will update!
thanks, I like the bottom set better too!
thanks! I have my eyes on the bottom design too. Looks simpler to me.
Two sets of design for gamesw.app to compare
Folks, top or bottom? I have two sets of images I used in these waitlist versions for gamesw.app, but not sure which looks better!
#buildinpublic
Definitely! I'm working on myself to share whatever I find useful or whatever I solve for myself. It's a bit hard though when you get in the zone building stuff.
Just launched: gamesw.app !
Working on simplifying the images for each step. Received feedback (rightfully) that it's a bit too colorful and maybe too detailed.
np, I guess cuz everyone needs to make money π°π
It's a nice tool and the telegram updates just makes it much more useful!
For my waitlists I tried Netlify Forms but faced a 100/month submission limit on the free tier! Luckily Lars (@builditn0w.bsky.social) introduced his tool a few days ago: post2sheet which takes care of keeping a waitlist for you on Google Sheets! github.com/l4r-s/post2s...
