Grateful and honored to become a Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society. Many thanks to this year’s jurors & judges. Here are the 4 paintings I submitted.
from the Watercolor Honor Society, “I’m very happy to inform you that your painting ‘The River Dart’ has been selected to receive a Watercolor USA Board of Directors Award in this year’s Watercolor USA Exhibition” being held at the Spiva Center for the Arts in Joplin MO. Aug 22-Oct 11.
These 9x9 in. paintings were sold in “Mystery Boxes” at the Cape Elizabeth Land Trust. All 30 artists in the event were asked to submit small format paintings to be sold without the buyer being able to see the painting or know who the artist was. I hope these buyers were happy with their purchase.
Another painting from this past weekend’s Cape Elizabeth Land Trust, Paint for Preservation event.

I always enjoy painting in the Mountain Maryland Plein Air Event. The Town of Cumberland reminds me of a mini San Francisco of the East. I was honored to win an award for Best Architectural (subject.) Thanks to the organizers, patrons, event judge, and my gracious hosts!
Mountain Maryland Plein Air. One of the many perches with an overlook of the town.
That is weird. I’ve been listening to the Great Gatsby this past week too. I saw a friend at the coffee shop this morning, and he mentioned that he was also listening to the Great Gatsby. 🤔 It was retold in Mad Magazine in 1975 as The Great Gasbag.

Where the land meets the sea, there isn’t a clear boundary as it appears on maps. In low lying land like this, the area belongs to both land and sea. It has its own micro climate and biome where unique birds, mollusks, and mammals thrive.
