Two crows march through a snowy field. They see a pile of snow on top of a fence post. "Heh, that lump of snow looks like..." starts one... Close up of the lump of snow that is revealed to be a living snowy owl. "Gasp" exhales one crow. "...a spirit!" exclaims the second.

After almost 4 years last Tuesday I was laid off from Komi. I'm still processing it all and trying to find ways to better myself and my improve my work.
Meanwhile, i'll be looking for opportunities as concept artist, focused on character, art director or 2D art generalist
Hoping to bounce back soonπ
AFK Journey!
recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best. It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.
itβs come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so Iβm posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI
this turned out so good! i love the mix between the smooth faded gradients and the texture of the graphite lines!
3-panel comic. Panel 1: a truck driver spills his drink while driving and exclaims, βthereβs a bee in here!β Panel 2: the fuel truck he is driving careens off the road and crashes into a building with a sign out front that says βEVIL TECH COMPANYβ. Panel 3: the bee walks down the road with the burning aftermath behind him. He says on a tiny flip-phone, βitβs done.β
A single panel comic of Barret Wallace from FF7 disgustedly gesturing to a screenshot from Twitter, showing a photo of Elon edited to reveal his clown makeup using Xs new Edit Image AI theft plugin. Barretβs text box reads βWeβre killinβ the planet for THIS shit?β.
how many billions of gallons of water evaporated just this week for this?
Some transgender people see only darkness in front and behind them.
The current climate is especially accelerating this.
Transgender people just want to love the people they love and live their lives as themselves.

If someone you know hasn't had the chance to play Owlboy yet, it's currently 80% off on Steam, along with our other games.
It directly helps fund our next game, Vikings on Trampolines, so thank you if you decide to check it out! store.steampowered.com/app/115800/O...

Our planet is being sold out from underneath us. All for the low, low cost of human creativity and artistic ingenuity. I weep for the talents that AI use will cause to wither on the vine and fail to bloom. Future generations will curse us.
