#yycbike report: Eau Claire cleared, Riverwalk from Centre street east ~2cm cover. Bow north MUP similar conditions including around the zoo with some bare patches. Nose Creek cleared beautifully, almost fully bare pavement. I found the conditions to be much better than expected.

We can do better. Build inclusive environments. Share your light with transgender people and other marginalized communities. Model the change you wish to see.
We can also create the conditions that promote more inclusive, just communities that, in turn, reform government policy and reach.
These actions taken against trans people also reach cis girls and women. They create requirements and social conditions that invite gender surveillance and scrutiny, discourage participation, and place focus on documentation and compliance over play and engagement.
Trans people in Alberta, trans youth in particular, by actions of the provincial government, are denied everyday affirmation by vital communities in school and sport and negotiate the loss of inclusive health care and space in community to live their whole lives authentically.
My neighbourhood thinks I'm pretty neat.
I'm grateful for this recognition on #IWD2026. As a trans person, every instance of affirmation, being seen and accepted by the communities in which I'm engaged, matters deeply.
