The blue origin new glen rocket on the launch pad at Kennedy Space Center
Blue Origin has achieved a major milestone by raising its first flight-ready New Glenn rocket into the launch position ahead of final testing.
This moment showcases the progress of their next-generation heavy-lift rocket, bringing them closer to participating in the NASA Artemis Moon Mission π

And Blue Origin was the best choice to be the second partner after SpaceX. If it wasnβt BO it would have been Boeing or ULA or one of the other existence launch providers which have not shown the ability to innovate cost effectively.
To be frank, the need for redundancy and two options is a major reason why Starliner hasnβt been canceled. Despite how badly Boeing has managed that product, the government needs them to solve it and starting over with another company would cost too much time and money.
The reason is the government can not be dependent on a single launch provider. Due to the importance of space for national security they require redundancy in access to space. No matter what they would have two launch providers.
NASA plans to assign demo missions to SpaceX and Blue Origin to advance their cargo lander designs after design certification.
This follows NASAβs 2023 request to develop cargo versions of the human landing systems for Artemis III, IV, and V.

NASAβs X-59 Ultra Quiet Supersonic Jet could revolutionize βοΈ air travel.
Supersonic commercial flights are banned by the FAA over us soil due to the sonic boom.
The X-59βs purpose is to demonstrate that it is possible to reduce the sonic βboomβ down to a sonic βthumpβ.

There will be new space based telescopes that will be better than anything we can possibly capture on earth, but our earth viewing from telescopes will no longer be what it has been ever again.
This is not an argument against progress, just a fact.

NASAβ mission with the X-59 is to solve one of the major barriers to supersonic flight over land, currently banned in the United States, by making sonic booms quieter.
