I’m just glad to be here breathing. Literally, would not be here were it not for my spouse, my family, and my current friends. Every day feels like a struggle against my own brain, but I try and remain. Most of it is thanks to them. Finding community with a group of BIPOC folks has completely recalibrated my mental state. It is to them that I owe so much of the respect and trust that I have in myself now. I’m so grateful for their presence, even when things are tough and even if thousands of miles separate us. I know I can trust them to search for me just as much as I search for them. We are not alone.
