THOUSANDS OF IRAQI KURDS HAVE STARTED A GROUND ATTACK IN IRAN, ACCORDING TO FOX NEWS AND US OFFICIALS.

Not what you know, it's who you know. Bet his dad got him some brilliant work experience. Put a word in etc.

Narco War permitting.

Let Infantino stage his World Cup Of Peace in the US. The Saudis as favourites to win. The rest of us can have a World Cup in Canada and Europe.

Okey-dokey. Favourites for the World Cup banned?

In the best Trump tradition of every accusation being an admission, if you're claiming your enemy is running out of armaments then it's probably best not to immediately segue about seeking emergency supplies yourself.

And he *keeps* doing them.

Most migrants in Dubai and across the GCC are from Bangladesh, Egypt, pre-1948 Palestine etc. But even for, eg British expats, an absence of history is a draw. In that case, an absence of imperial decline.

03.03.2026 16:04 πŸ‘ 4 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

What could possibly go wrong?

03.03.2026 15:50 πŸ‘ 15 πŸ” 2 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

The pictures from Dubai are especially resonant. A place built on the idea that you can escape history - both mental escape and geographical. If not true for Emiratis, then certainly for those who have moved there. And then history smacks you right in the chops. Like a Shahed hitting a luxury hotel.

I read that as a nudge-nudge that Dark Forces may have been at play.

It's a light'n'bright feature for the inside pages.

Polanski's new pals can brush off the boob stuff. The LD stuff is harder. Which is why pieces like this tend not to mention it.

Median salary in much of England is around 38k. So a household income of 60k for 1.5-2 FTEs is pretty representative.

03.03.2026 10:40 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

60k is not a low income. It's close to median.

These people are not on low incomes. They're close to median.

They're missing from your list.

Who do supporters of this approach think a married couple in, say, Mansfield or Swindon on a combined income of 60k should vote for?

03.03.2026 09:39 πŸ‘ 8 πŸ” 2 πŸ’¬ 4 πŸ“Œ 1

This is exactly it.

02.03.2026 21:53 πŸ‘ 4 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Righter than he ever guessed.

None of these people are actually running a war. They are all merely roleplaying people running a war. Everything is content. Nothing is real.

You can't analyse this stuff. It's the foreign policy equivalent of free jazz.

Said it before and I'll say it again. The world was lucky between 2016 and 2020. Crises, bar the pandemic, were containable and there was at least some adult supervision. This time, no guardrails, no grown-ups. Just Trump.

At least don't insist on Æthelflæd as the spelling.

02.03.2026 09:14 πŸ‘ 6 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 3 πŸ“Œ 0

Also - can a dark age dawn?

(Korea in 1950, the 1991 liberation of Kuwait, and Nato’s 2011 Libyan campaign)

Not least for this nugget.

"[A]s liberal media, politicians and lawyers need constantly to be reminded, only three wars in history have met the international legal gold standard of being endorsed by a Chapter VII β€˜all necessary means’ UN Security Council resolution."

01.03.2026 18:24 πŸ‘ 10 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Very much worth a read.

01.03.2026 18:22 πŸ‘ 20 πŸ” 2 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

Maybe go old school imperialist? Demand a takeover of Iran's customs service?
