Petty 🍊 was ordered to unfreeze Maine child nutrition program funding that was cut over dispute with Maine Gov. over transgender students.

'Devastating cuts': Trump eliminates office tied to benefits for at least 80 million people https://twp.ai/4img8F
Last July, Project 2025's Kevin Roberts said “the second American Revolution ... will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.”
It was a declaration of war against the American people, a demand for our surrender. Some cowards in law, academia and business have submitted. Many of us never will.
A black and white image of a sign reading "SUPREME COURT" is prominently displayed at the top. Below it, bold text announces "KILMAR ABREGO GARCIA CASE UPDATE." The background is dark, and there is a logo with "FIFTYFIFTY.ONE" at the bottom.
A press conference scene featuring several individuals, including two women in the foreground. One woman is wearing a colorful headband and holding a microphone; the other appears to be comforting her. A banner reading "BRING KILMAR HOME" is visible. In the background, a woman holds a photo of a man with children. The text below states "The Supreme Court upheld a lower court order that the Trump administration must facilitate the return to the United States of Kilmar. Within hours of the decision, the lower court issued a new order, directing the government to "take all available steps to facilitate the return" of Garcia to the U.S." The image is set against a dark background, with mentions of "FIFTYFIFTY.ONE" at the bottom.
A smiling man, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, holds a young child, his son, in his lap. The child, wearing a colorful outfit, is beaming. In front of them is a plate of strawberries with a silver number "3" candle, indicating a celebration. The text below states "Kilmar is a Maryland man wrongly deported to El Salvador. Those are just his circumstances. Let me tell you about him. Kilmar is a husband. Him and his wife were raising three kids, including their 5-year-old son, who has autism, is deaf in one ear and unable to verbally communicate. They’re also raising a 9-year-old with autism and a 10-year-old with epilepsy. Now his wife is alone with them." The background features a light-colored wall, and the image is framed with dark colors, including mentions of "FIFTYFIFTY.ONE" at the bottom.
A protest scene showing a cardboard sign with the message "WE ARE HUMAN" written in bold red letters. The background features individuals participating in the demonstration, bundled in winter clothing. Below the image, text states "FAMILIES CONTINUE TO BE SEPARATED BY ICE." A quote follows: "My husband Kilmar was abducted by the U.S. government," "In the blink of an eye, our three children lost their father, and I lost the love of my life." It continues with details of how Kilmar's wife was given only ten minutes to pick up their son before he was turned over to child protective services. The image is framed with dark colors, including mentions of "FIFTYFIFTY.ONE" at the bottom.
Under Trump, ICE has become a weapon. Protesters are arrested. Immigrants are disappeared. Kilmar wasn't a threat, he was a legal resident who fit a profile. Mahmoud wasn't silenced for violence-he was targeted. This is an American Gestapo. (1/3) #FreeKilmar #DefendDueProcess #BringThemBack
BREAKING: 36k people showed up in LA for Bernie and AOC’s rally. In the off year.
Americans are pissed — and anyone ignoring that is making a big mistake.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot. The reason the descent into a police state has been so rapid is because the infrastructure was already there. It’s been there since 9/11.
Agreed. Powerful. Also Chris Murphy lays out how our democracy is dying. Alarming. Democrats are not tiptoeing around anymore.

Here's the reality: they've backed themselves into a corner. If they bring him home there will be hell to pay. It's clear that they believe that the lesser hell is not bringing him home. So we need to make that hell the worse hell. Start calling and screaming at all of your representatives now! 1/2

From the great David Brooks of The New York Times, in the May volume of The Atlantic. Everyone should read every word of this historic piece. It's worth the price of a subscription to The Atlantic, without question the most courageous magazine in America today.

Hey "Missouri Right to Life," which is it, you just want to control women, or you don't care if people die?
How is forcing a raped person to report, or be forced to give birth, no matter how she became pregnant, "Pro-life?"
Say NO to gov control of your reproductive health care.

And don't forget ignoring the return of 4 dead Army soldiers from Lithuania. The people of Lithuania showed more respect for US dead soldiers, than their own president ever has. I remember a 💩 ton of bitchin’ whiney ass people on the right throwing a tantrum because Biden glanced at his watch.
"So many children died." - If one of Ukraine's allies (America) shows weakness to Russia, they’ll just carry on their outrageous and unjust war. The only way to negotiate with Russia is from a position of strength. www.france24.com/en/video/202...
Last night I wrote about Abrego Garcia’s case. Today, SCOTUS confirmed it’s true. Even though their stay is just temporary, he remains in cruel & unusual conditions in a foreign prison with no recourse. It could happen to any of us. joycevance.substack.com/p/the-week-a...
Trump is ABUSING HIS POWER to EXTORT compliance, political favors, or payoffs through the arbitrary and capricious application of laws and policies.
This pointless trade war fits the pattern of Trump abusing his power.
On the evening of April 8, our teams in Al Mawasi clinic, southern #Gaza, received an influx of nine people after a strike hit 300 metres away from the facility. Two were dead on arrival, including a two-year-old boy, the seven others were wounded.
Sending anyone from this country to a foreign gulag, particularly without a court hearing, should rightfully end a presidency. Full stop.
If you haven’t seen this, you need to!
Trump is short-selling America—deliberately tanking the economy so that businesses and entire industries bend the knee and beg him to save them.
Thanks, @chrismurphyct.bsky.social, for sounding the alarm.
Now, what is Congress going to do about it?
38% of people living in Mike Johnson's district were enrolled in Medicaid last year.
Yet Johnson is pushing for devastating cuts to Medicaid — all to pay for tax cuts that will predominantly go to the rich.
Is there a better encapsulation of the Republican Party?
Reckless cruelty isn’t strength.
Capitulation isn’t courage.
Cultish allegiance isn’t patriotism.
We used to know the difference.
My detained client was scheduled for a bond hearing this AM in a MA immigration court. He wasn't brought in, and he and his case have disappeared.
I then received this notice of activity on a nonexistent docket in which his name was changed to "N/A"
It's all happening a lot faster than I expected
Can we stop calling these atrocities "deportations." These people sold to El Salvadorian prisons were not deported. Deportation is a process that did not take place. They were rounded up and removed with no process. They were kidnapped, not deported.
