This is cool as hell: An app designed to ping people about nearby smartglasses.
Also cool: The creator was inspired by @404media.co coverage, a great illustration of why their journalism is so essential. This kind of work is funded by paid subscribers so become one of those if you can.

There's an italian saying: "a pensare male si fa peccato, ma spesso si indovina," which roughly translates to: "to think badly would be to sin, but very often one gets it right."
Perfect example. It's amazing how quickly Ring admitted this. And it's great to have evidence.
Do they at least provide decent shade?
Question: if it took actual abuse by ICE and a bad advertisement to get people to uninstall their ring cameras, is that a success or failure for privacy advocacy?
Like, did we fail to make the public sufficiently aware before this was abused, or did we succeed and this is them heeding our warnings?
shit like this is why im usually disappointed about being right
don't hurt me don't hurt me, no more
Trivial details on how less lethal munitions are deployed can impact how "less lethal" they are. I remember someone getting their heart stopped by a tear gas canister during the blm protests in Seattle because it hit them directly in the chest. Really concerning if this is accurate. Sounds dangerous
Zendesk has sent me over 400 emails today π
Especially annoying getting emails from pornhub support and grindr and stuff. I don't understand what whoever's running this campaign expects to gain... They're not getting any info or sending any ads really, just signing me up for stuff.

The sun will always rise and set, but the warmth I feel is from the people around me. The light I see is in the moments of quiet joy found in each day. We're used to the gloom here, we know how to get each other through it.
It's funny how there can be horrible monsters beyond comprehension and magic and scifi lasers, but if fictional characters say inaccurate things about how phones work it irks me
Someone gave me a big bag of free kiwis (the fruit) today from their parents' farm π
Whoops I mean ICE. I guess the police are not the sole antagonist anymore. Force of habit.
I always wonder which they're going for with stuff like this:
1. Dump the channel and tattletale to the police about whatever (or maybe they are the police)
2. Join the channel as liberalwarrior69 and see what cool kids wanna help kill cops to further inflame stuff
3. Find opportunities for violence

The storefront of pagliacci's pizza. I'm sure I'm the first person to ever think of this stupid joke
I was on the phone with this person and they seemed bummed so I recommended they try this new pizza place then I asked for a large pepperoni for delivery

I fucking hate state management as a user.
I'll write a whole novella in an app, pop over to reply to a text, then swap back, devastated as I watch my castle crumble into the stateless sea
(P.S. I swapped to Google to make sure I spelled devastated correctly and my hr spiked for a sec coming back)
"We donβt believe that Veronika is the Einstein of cows" is such a great quote.
NEW: Two members of Elon Muskβs Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) who were working at the Social Security Administration may have shared SSNs to help an advocacy group that had the aim "to overturn election results in certain States," according to a court document.
I wrote about my experiences being sexually exploited as a child, and what we need to do to make sure AI doesnβt make that a reality for millions of children.

Violently snatching Maduro in the night and coercing his successor to give up her nobel peace prize has got to be one of the most ironic things I've ever heard of.
