Oil prices wouldn't be all over the news today if more of our economy was powered by local, secure renewable energy.

This isn't an "energy crisis". It's a fossil fuel crisis.

44% of UK electricity came from renewables in 2025. More of that plus an electrified economy => no more oil shocks.

A no-brainer to invest in netzero then? Moving away from fossil-fuel based imports, relying on our own greener, secure network and reducing electricity costs to the customer must be the focus.

As we're seeing right now, energy crises are just that, plural. But because we're still so intrinsically linked (i.e. we're dependent upon) fossil fuel imports, we will continue to be hit by events that, on the surface at least, have little to do with us.

Instead you pay £30bn extra which goes almost entirely to people who don't live, pay tax or spend money in the UK.
