did some illustrations for this piece!
Part of what I enjoy about creating time period specific work is the research about historical dress. While I am by no means aiming for full historical accuracy, it's a fun challenge to aim to costume characters based in specific times. This graphic novel takes place in the early 1950s.
Additional concept art of two more characters: Ronald Barnes and Floyd Brennan.
Illustration of Gina LaRue. She is a tall, slim woman in a stripped dress with a dramatic attitude.
Art of Kit Holiday. She is a medium height woman, medium length brown hair, almost bland in her appearance.
Illustration of Oretta Adams. She wears a pink skirt suit that she looks dreadfully uncomfortable in.
Last year, I published my first full-length graphic novel, Ballyhoo (Book One). Working on book two now. Here is concept art for some of the characters in upcoming chapters: Gina LaRue, Kit Holiday, and Oretta Adams.
