Suffice it to say, this ain’t it:
Republicans spend an incredible amount of time and energy finding new ways to obstruct justice and accountability. www.news5cleveland.com/news/politic...

Worth watching the whole clip, but purely in propaganda terms it seems to me, admittedly just an amateur observer when it comes to war fighting, that it may be useful to send the message to the 91+ million Iranian civilians that we are not trying to kill them.
So let me get this straight ...
1. US bombs Iran
2. Oil price goes up a bit, benefitting Russia's petrostate
3. Russia gives Iran targeting info
4. Oil price shoots WAY up
5. US unsanctions Russian oil

Ryan to Colby: "In his victory speech, Trump said, 'I'm not going to start a war. I'm going to stop wars.' How can we consider that anything but a straight up betrayal? I think you are lying to the American people about it, I think the VP is lying about it, I think the president is lying about it."
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Kristi Noem.
PAT RYAN: 'Does the US want to be the policeman of the Middle East getting nothing but spending precious lives & trillions.' Rng a bell?
COLBY: Defer to you
R: That was Trump. How about this - 'we simply cannot afford to get enmeshed in a Middle East war'
C: Defer to you
R: That was actually you

I wish we could stop discussing current events as if our President wasn't bonkers and surrounded by people who are incompetent or malign actors or both. There is such an urge to parse this in usual terms, to make it make sense, make it palatable, calm us down when the house is on fire.

So many ostensibly straight news stories just flatly assumed that any friction in leaving Afghanistan had to be a result of incompetence by Biden, like there was a "no chaos" button he could have pushed to make the mass withdrawal of troops from an instantly failed state happen with no risk
They are literally trying to convince you that starting a war is ending a war.
There is nothing much to say right now other than that this war is illegal, unprovoked, and unconstitutional, and Trump and Netanyahu are both war criminals who belong in the Hague. And that I hope for as few people to die because of their madness as possible.
In the past, sometimes presidents have said it’s just a military operation or limited airstrikes to skirt Congress. Trump has unilaterally launched major combat operations, declaring war with the goal of regime change. A major violation of the U.S. Constitution, also illegal under international law
