it's a stretch, but next I'd start thinking that maybe it's a power draw issue.
Just having the tablet draw as much power as it needs to run while the operating system is booting up / loading necessary files could be it
But in that case, there isn't really a way to fix it
*somewhere* in all those boot settings would be a menu that lets you shuffle your hard drives and various USB options around in a big ordered list, and that's what you'd be messing around with. I'd definitely make a note of the way it looks before changing things, just in case
if it's potentially seeing your tablet as USB boot media, you can go into Boot Order Lock and force your PC to boot from hard drives before USB.
However you'll want to remember you did that so if you ever need to use USB to recover your system, you can reverse it

I think it did a lot of very interesting things, story-wise. The battle system isn't bad, but it does feel a bit thin as it never compounds too many tactical considerations on you
I'm biased towards a JRPG that gives me an adult main character and a story that doesn't treat the player like a child

Today I felt a bit nostalgic for the time I worked on Blasphemous, so I channeld some of that same energy into new Vampire Tactics concept-art. Meet the Poroniec, they are nasty little nightmares.
I found Mahjong Soul's tutorial to be very good, and their ingame UI does some things (like highlighting similar tiles on mouseover) that makes it a *lot* easier to play.
You can start with 'all simples' (tanyao) and 'riichi' as the first two yaku, and then slowly learn others

I'd think Player Agency is a contender - horror spans a spectrum within survival/action where you are more or less powerful in the setting, some very clearly want the game to do things to the player, and vice versa
I think it feels better in a game where setup/tempo matter, when an ambush gives the enemy some free time to buff / start a charge / etc, or you have to get your own party back in formation
You might be able to leverage party shuffling depending on how integral the character positions are
