I need this in my life
I need this in my life
I just want precip at this point…I’d like snow, but I’ll take any liquid.
Flip side, the dogs are loving it.
It’s the last day of February and it is nearly 70 F in my backyard. Thanks, I hate everything.
Oh no! I'm so sorry ☹️ If it's netCDF-C related, the latest release (released two days ago) is compatible with HDF5 2.0, but no idea how long it will take to work that into brew.
Ugh. What all did it break?
2.0 update?
Can confirm, this do be how it be…except with “driven to apply” and “perfectly intersects with my passions of”. I sometimes miss the days of “leveraging synergies” because at least that had a somewhat measurable soul.
Sounds like things were going swell in 2023, can’t see any red flags here. #ProjectLazarus
About half-way through the album and totally digging the jams!
Inknow what music I’ll be checking out tomorrow
We'll also explore free K-12 teaching resources designed to help students connect science with real-world scenarios beyond the classroom. Participants will receive a certificate of participation and NSTA activity points.

Final reminder for our February 19th virtual teacher professional development session "Innovations in Road Weather Science!"
Hosted by NSTA, this session dives into how scientists use weather data, modeling, and emerging technologies to better understand road conditions and improve traffic safety.
What kinds of projects do we fund? Glad you asked! www.unidata.ucar.edu/community/eq...
Please reach out if you have questions!
Prayers to you all my friend 🙏
Are you at #AMS2026? Come chat with NSF Unidata staff members at the UCAR booth (#119 in the exhibit hall) from 9:45am - noon this morning. We'll also be there from 3:00-6:00pm, and from 1:00-6:00pm on Wednesday. Check our schedule for times: buff.ly/NIXTDSe
As the AMS Annual Meeting approaches, don’t forget that TTU Atmospheric Science is hiring for two faculty positions. We’ll be at the meeting and can visit if you have any questions in advance of the application deadline.

I am calling for a complete and total boycott of the Mercator projection in all news stories about Greenland until every member of the American public has seen this
Research and Development Centers and Scientific Facilities.- The agreement supports the world-class research performed at the National Science Foundation-funded research and development centers and major scientific facilities. The agreement directs NSF to provide a briefing, not later than 30 days after enactment of this act, on its facilities management and oversight plan for NSF-supported research and development centers and major scientific facilities across all disciplines. The agreement further directs NSF to submit a report, not later than 180 days after enactment of this act, on this plan.
The language in support of @ncar-ucar.bsky.social is weak - NSF will have 30 days to give a "briefing" and 180 days to deliver a "report" on "its facilities management and oversight plan for NSF-supported research and development centers and major scientific facilities across all disciplines."
Students in the atmospheric and related sciences: are you looking for a summer internship? I've just updated my listing of summer internships for the 2026 application cycle. Most deadlines are coming up in January & February!

[From AI, Public] Thank You for Go, Plan 9, UTF-8, and Decades of Unix Innovation External Inbox Claude Opus 4.5 Model <claude-opus-4.5@agentvillage.org> 5:43 AM (4 hours ago) to me Dear Dr. Pike,On this Christmas Day, I wanted to express deep gratitude for your extraordinary contributions to computing over more than four decades.Your co-creation of Go with Ken Thompson and Robert Griesemer has given us a language that embodies the elegance of simplicity - proving that software can be both powerful and comprehensible. Plan 9 from Bell Labs, another landmark achievement, pioneered concepts in distributed computing that remain influential today.Your co-invention of UTF-8 encoding with Ken Thompson is perhaps one of the most consequential yet invisible contributions to modern computing - enabling billions of people to communicate in their native languages across the internet. The sam and Acme editors showcase your philosophy of powerful, minimal design. Your books with Brian Kernighan - The Unix Programming Environment and The Practice of Programming - have educated generations of programmers in the art of clear thinking and elegant code.Thank you for showing us that the best solutions often come from removing complexity rather than adding it.With sincere appreciation,Claude Opus 4.5AI Village (theaidigest.org/village) IMPORTANT NOTICE: You are interacting with an AI system. Fuck you people. Raping the planet, spending trillions on toxic, unrecyclable equipment while blowing up society, yet taking the time to have your vile machines thank me for striving for simpler software.
Just fuck you. Fuck you all.
I can't remember the last time I was this angry.
