It may help to see what weβve funded previously. While not exhaustive (and priorities evolve), over the past year E&E supported 40+ studies across education, health, housing, and more: bit.ly/4bu0sSq (6/n)
Our goal with these updates is to be more transparent about the areas and questions weβre most interested in supporting, and about how proposals are reviewed and prioritized. (5/n)
In addition to adding Medicaid as a new QED policy area, weβve updated and clarified our research priorities across all six QED areas.
Details are in the QED RFP: bit.ly/4aXA43k (4/n)
For QEDs, we accept submissions for the following AV policy areas:
-Medicaid (π¨new this roundπ¨)
-Career Pathways
-Contraceptive Choice and Access
-Higher Education
-Infrastructure
-Public Finance
(3/n)
As always, we prioritize research that will produce rigorous, actionable evidence on social programs and policies that can improve the lives of Americans.
For RCTs, we welcome submissions in most domestic policy areas (2/n)

Looks like intensive advising may b e more cost-effective than financial aid. Turns out guiding students through complex college choices might be more effective than giving them money and setting 18 year olds loose on the world to make consequential decisions: www.nber.org/papers/w3392...
The @arnoldventures.bsky.social Evidence team hosted two webinars recently to provide insight into what we're looking for our two causal RFPs (RCTs + QEDs).

Attending @aefpweb.bsky.socialβs inaugural Innovation Day, and just struck by all the great work everyone in the room does every day to improve education for students - and how the current administration is putting it all at risk. #edusky #aefp2025

I shared this article before I read it; having now read it I can say it's an incredible piece of work, something that should be read in basically every intro to quant methods course in education. Just a total tour de force on something I've always believed but lacked the technical skill to argue.
Housing research friends, @arnoldventures.bsky.social has two new RFPs to support rigorous policy evaluation. We *desperately* need high-quality evaluation of recent state/local zoning reforms - would love to see proposals!
