It's World Hearing Day. Yesterday, @sant.europarl.europa.eu held a hearing. The speakers’ core message was blunt: hearing loss is rising fast, and societies are not prepared.

Embarrassing. International law schminternational law. Undignified and unprincipled.

I've just seen that there is an event with a session called "Towards a blue print of an EU Action Plan" and I wonder if that's just about the most EU title you could come up with - though maybe you could add a roadmap to the blue print.

The inquiry won't bring back the funding, but it might make some reflect on the shoddy treatment of the NGOs and patient organisations. I hope it also makes them reflect on how to make sure the voices of civil society are not drowned out in a world where big interests can make a lot of noise.
