An image of a huge jackboot crushing a comic artist and a bunch of comic pages. The boot is marked by the logos for MasterCard, Visa, Paypal, and Stripe. Below the image there is text which reads: Don't let Payment Processors tell YOU what you can buy! It is not a payment processor's role to decide what kind of content you can or cannot spend money on, so long as it is a legal transaction. Fight back against the unjust policies hurting artists and creators online!

Thankfully Canada follows the same rules as the United States (i.e. both chambers have to pass identical bills) so we're not up the proverbial creek YET, but the sooner we let them know we're Absolutely Incandescent about all this, the sooner they'll start reconsidering:

Take the energy that's making you want to scream at Itch and instead direct it at Mastercard, Visa, Paypal, Stripe, and, again, the relatively-small collection of Australian Nazis whose values are for some reason reflected in the people who control all of our money

It very literally does not make any sense to be mad at the single-digit team of people who run Itch over this. They would very much like to be able to let people sell transgressive smut, as evidenced by the fact that they allowed people to sell transgressive smut until fascists tattled to Mastercard

I’m Starting To Worry This Industry Has No Respect For The People Who Work In It Once your stock options were fully vested, did you sell off all the shares in your humanity?

I wrote this column and I'll just say that the original headline was much meaner. The piece itself, though, is still very angry and very mean, I assure you.

Studio behind Oblivion Remastered, one of 2025's biggest hits, subject to mass layoffs Virtuos has reportedly been impacted by layoffs, affecting seven percent of staff.

At this point it just really doesn't matter anymore how well or badly a game sells. If management feels that number could go up faster by axing 300 jobs that's what they'll do. There's always more profit to be made. It'll never be enough. Absolute fucking bullshit.

Email to support@itch.io, subject line "De-indexing of NSFW and adult work." Email content is too long for alt text, so slightly edited for character limit:

Given recent rumours of the delisting and deindexing of adult work across all of itch.io, I wish to ask if these rumours are true (and a binary yes/no answer would be preferred to the question 'Is concealing NSFW and adult work from search and indexes now a policy of itch.io?') and voice my strong opposition to this for a multitude of reasons if it is.

1) "Adult" and "NSFW" are often used to discuss queerness, as queerness almost inherently brushes against topics of sexuality, bodies, and human desire. There are ways to create content about queerness which ARE 'safe for work,' however--

2) There are ongoing campaigns to cast all forms of queer life as sexualized and perverse, not fit for consumption by decent people, and so on. Itch.io risks legitimizing these attitudes by suddenly deplatforming immense amounts of queer art, and thus

3) the de-indexing of adult work will inevitably disproportionately impact already precarious queer artists and writers and game-developers who have trusted itch.io and promoted it as a safe, accepting, place for art that the mainstream may reject. This is a betrayal of thousands of members of your artistic community who have put faith in your website and organization that will inevitably crater the reputation and user base of itch.io.

If this is not the new policy, then I hope whatever technical error occured is resolved. If this is the new policy, I hope you will backtrack. If you will not backtrack, then I will be joining the exodus of writers, artists, game devs, and other creatives who once trusted you as we search for a place where queer art may be, for a time, safe.

"Simple Pixels" is a small, but robust, pixel art font, designed to occupy very little screen estate without losing clarity. The lines are clear, and match any aesthetic with ease.

It also has support to several diacritics and symbols, ideal for everyday usage.
